Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an accomplished Government Relations Manager, to join the company’s enterprise-wide government relations strategy and function. Reporting to the Vice President, Government Relations, the Government Relations Manager will represent Peraton’s legislative and policy interests on Capitol Hill with primary focus on committees with jurisdictional oversight of civilian agencies, cybersecurity, and government information technology.  Additionally, as a key external representative of Peraton, they must embody Peraton’s core values, always acting with integrity and trust, a “we before I” mindset, and honoring the missions we serve.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish, cultivate, and sustain enduring Peraton relationships with Members of Congress, their staff, and relevant professional committees.
  • Collaborate with Government Relations peers to ensure Congressional strategies account for Executive branch policy and regulatory approaches and leverage think tanks, trade associations, and industry coalitions to maximize Peraton’s impact.
  • Raise Peraton’s profile on Capitol Hill as the nation’s largest transformative enterprise IT provider and national security mission capability integrator.
  • Collaborate with Peraton’s Political Action Committee on congressional strategy and priorities.
  • Through research, analysis, and collaboration, ensure insights into key government influencers are captured, summarized, and articulated.
  • Liaise and partner across Peraton’s Sector and functional departments to ensure content development across key influence vectors is aligned to our corporate and business objectives.
  • Collaborate across Peraton to develop content and policy materials to support goals.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Team player who is a self-starter, decisive, able to work independently, organize and prioritize daily workload in a fast-paced environment, has exceptional attention to detail and deadlines, outstanding judgement, and discretion, and is passionate about their work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, international affairs, or a similar field with 10+ years in government relations, including professional staff on Capitol Hill and/or Executive branch legislative affairs. The ideal candidate will have one or more experiences in the following:
    • Federal government services industry
    • Federal agency and/or Congressional staff oversight expertise in civilian agencies, information technology, and/or the General Services Administration
    • Enterprise information technology programs, and cloud.
  • Established bipartisan relationships with Members of Congress and relevant committee staff.
  • Deep knowledge of the federal budget process, legislative process, and appropriations expertise.
  • Proven ability to manage legislative requirements across a diverse set of federal government business interests.
  • Demonstrated success researching and crafting analytic assessments.
  • Impeccable communication skills, verbal and written, to confidently and comfortably communicate concisely and precisely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills; data analytics a plus.
  • Ability to travel as required, up to 10%

Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
