About the team and the role:The Global Business Selling & Stores team, as part of eBay's Global Markets organization, is responsible for helping sellers start and grow their businesses on our platform and delivering a value proposition that attracts and retains sellers, from small entrepreneurs to global brands. We partner with teams across the enterprise to drive our strategic priorities forward, deliver on our promise and give sellers confidence in being successful, profitable, and protected on our marketplace.
We are looking for a Manager of Global Business Seller Strategy & Operations to own the strategy for seller discovery and seller storefronts on eBay. This role will report into the head of Global Business Selling & Stores Strategy and will lead key initiatives that support the business selling experience and drive success for our sellers. The Global Business Selling & Stores team is a team of strategic leaders, setting the direction for our business segment, but also embedded operators, not afraid to roll up our sleeves to achieve our goals. We are a team that pride ourselves on our ability to flex to business priorities - 'general athletes' who learn quickly and drive progress - and relentlessly advocate for the sellers we serve. In this role, you will build and execute strategies that deliver on key business objectives and tackle critical needs for our sellers, globally, through deep collaboration with partner teams, particularly with our product and technology team.
What You'll Accomplish:- Strategy Definition: Build the business case and develop the strategy for seller discovery and storefronts, identifying key buyer and seller needs and developing strategies to drive seller success and deliver on business goals
- Ensure Roadmap Delivery: Influence roadmap development, and support the successful delivery of outcomes across product, marketing, trust and seller engagement that achieve business and strategic goals for Business Selling.
- Go to Market Strategy: Build the strategic narrative for Stores initiatives for both eBay buyers and business sellers, ensuring new initiatives/product releases reinforce the buyer and seller value proposition. Drive our approach to build awareness and adoption for Stores initiatives - partnering with product, product marketing, channels, and ops
- Results and Accountability: Define and own reporting against key performance indicators along owned initiatives
Who you are:- Strategic, and an operator: You can both translate enterprise goals and seller needs into strategies and drive outcomes, in collaboration with key partners across the org
- Someone with an inclination towards data / evidence, and a high level of comfort with analytical approaches (both qualitative / quantitative) to derive actionable insights
- You are especially good at distilling what is important vs. just interesting. You can go beyond articulating an observation and land the "so what?" and the "now what?"
- A structured thinker that can break down ambiguous problems into tangible solutions and actionable plans.
- An exceptional communicator (verbal and written) who can modulate to different audiences and objectives
What you will bring: - Demonstrated intellectual curiosity about this area of work (ecomm, marketplace, tech) and empathy / a natural instinct to help our sellers and solve their problems. Experience as a seller (casually or beyond) is a plus.
- Track record of bringing initiatives from ideas to execution and strong ability to build and implement project plans
- You are collaborative and candid, and are able to influence cross-functional partners through domain expertise, quality work, and quality relationships
- 6+ years of related experience. Experience in management consulting or related business strategy role at a major corporation a plus
- Business function experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer tech in a product, product marketing, general management, or related business function role. Cross-disciplinary experience is a plus
- BA/BS required, MBA or similar graduate degree preferred
- A passion for selling on marketplace platforms
Geo / travel:- Ability to be present at an eBay office 3 days/week
- Ability to travel occasionally to San Jose HQ and/or other global locations as needed
Additional DetailsThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
C$102,800 - C$137,200
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
