Full Job Description
As the Global Associate Marketing Director, you will have an opportunity to work on a fast-growing blockbuster brand on track to become a top 10 brand at AstraZeneca.

Within the Global Respiratory team and reporting to the Global Commercial Head, you will have a unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of promotional brand strategy and materials to grow the brand as a market leader. This pivotal role will ensure the successful execution of tactics aligned to the Global Strategic Plan (GSP) and operational plan, driving both short-term performance and maximizing long-term brand value. The role will also play an important part in advancing digital innovation, applying AI-enabled tools and approaches, and ensuring strong cross-functional coordination across brand execution, alliance priorities, and supply planning.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and refine the brand's promotional strategy to increase global impact, bringing innovative approaches and opportunities to achieve a bold, transformative ambition.
  • Lead the implementation of prioritized tactics within the GSP and operational plan, ensuring timely execution, clear accountability, and alignment with brand objectives across markets.
  • Craft and implement persuasive promotional materials and campaigns in alignment with the overarching brand strategy, with an emphasis on innovative thinking and flawless execution.
  • Serve as a lead for digital innovation and AI implementation, identifying and applying AI tools and techniques to enhance marketing effectiveness, content development, customer engagement, executional efficiency, and insight generation across the omni-channel ecosystem.
  • Analyze business performance and formulate strategic insights to leverage business drivers, optimize brand performance, and identify transformative pathways.
  • For key strategic initiatives, lead the creation, rollout, and optimization of new marketing materials and tactics, ensuring they are embedded effectively into the GSP and broader operational planning process.
  • Collaborate with markets to identify best practices, uncover needs and trends, and improve consistency of brand strategy execution through omni-channel tactics.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with enterprise cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution and tracking of marketing activities and tactics.
  • Work closely with alliance partners and internal stakeholders to support strong alliance management, ensuring strategic alignment, effective governance, coordinated execution, and delivery against shared brand priorities.
  • Partner with relevant cross-functional teams, including commercial, medical, sales, market development, advocacy, and supply colleagues, to ensure brand plans are informed by market needs, evidence generation, and operational realities.
  • Support supply management considerations by ensuring close alignment between brand plans, demand assumptions, launch readiness, and execution priorities, helping to mitigate risk and support continuity of supply.
  • Play a crucial role in the preparation and execution of launch activities for the product's expansion with a new indication.
  • Oversee allocated budgets for programs, ensuring cost-effective strategies that deliver maximum impact.
  • This role will report to the Global Head of Marketing.

Essential Skills / Experience Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, or the sciences.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical commercial experience, including a robust understanding of the US market.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing brand strategies and materials founded on insights and value propositions.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating strategy into clear tactical implementation through brand plans, operational plans, and cross-functional delivery.
  • Experience applying digital and AI-enabled tools to improve marketing effectiveness, execution, planning, or customer engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial competence and budget management.
  • Experience in the respiratory and/or immunology therapeutic area.
  • Experience engaging with external customers, such as key opinion leaders.
  • Proven ability to strategically lead personal and non-personal tactic development and execution.
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects across functional areas, working independently when appropriate, collaborating within teams, and serving as a sub-team lead when needed.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for acquiring and applying both scientific and business acumen.
  • Experience managing external agencies and/or vendors on a daily basis, including budget oversight.
  • Experience working across complex stakeholder groups, with strong collaboration in areas such as alliance management, matrix leadership, and operational execution.
  • Strong understanding of cross-functional dependencies, including the impact of commercial planning on forecasting, launch readiness, and supply management.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $229,303 to $343,955. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
