We have an exciting opportunity for a
GIS Developer to join the team with GeoControl Systems , a teammate company.
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Developer will:- EmployGIS and remote sensing techniques to Earth, Moon, and other planetaryimage data in support of International Space Station (ISS) and Artemismissions
- Create,manage, and deploy data pipelines for imagery and geospatial products intoweb GIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcPortal, and NASA internal applications
- Developplanetary and Earth-based cartography products for NASA's human spaceflight missions and operations
- Developand manage geodatabases, versioning, data integrity, data catalogs,metadata and other related data information
- Utilizeand recommend automation techniques for dataset and imagery processing
- Participatein science and imagery mission operations as needed
- Developand implement geospatial and data science QA/QC processes
- Providescience services and technology products to a range of human explorationorganizations including Artemis, Gateway, Orion, the lander/ascentsystems, spacesuits, EVA, and ISS
- Interactwith scientists, engineers, and managers in a highly dynamic andoccasionally time critical environment
- Performother duties as required

- Typicallyrequires a bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related areaand a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Geospatialdatabase management, ArcGIS Online, Esri Portal, open-source GIS software,web and desktop-based GIS
- StrongGIS programming skills
- Experiencewith Earth and planetary remote sensing
- Proficientcomputer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office suite, Adobe products)
- Excellentoral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectivelyinteract with teammates, customers, and management at all levels
- Abilityto prepare written documents and presentation to verbally present atvarious meetings
- Abilityto develop innovative and creative work ideas and work without specifictasking
Requisition Preferences:- BS ingeoscience, lunar science, planetary science, image science, GIS, remotesensing, computational science, or relevant science fields with applicableexperience
- Masters ingeoscience, lunar science, planetary science, image science, GIS, remotesensing, computational science or relevant science fields with applicableexperience
- 5+years of work experience
- Softwarescripting, command line skills, automation of tasks, programming language- Machine learning, deep learning, neural networks
- Missionscience integration and operations
- Previouswork with NASA and/or in the field of planetary geology
