Position Status: Full-time, exempt
Position Summary
The General Manager (GM) is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of multi-family construction projects at assigned branch. The GM ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, all while meeting client and regulatory requirements. This role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, leading a team of project managers, superintendents, estimators, an administrative team, and coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and clients. The GM is accountable for strategic planning, operational efficiency, resource allocation, and business growth in their operational area.
Responsibilities
34; Oversee the entire lifecycle of multi-family construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
34; Manage and direct the operations team's daily activities.
34; Manage and mentor a team of project managers, superintendents, estimators, and other key personnel. Foster a professional culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
34; Serve as the primary point of contact for clients. Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining open lines of communication and addressing client concerns promptly and professionally.
34; Contribute to business development and strategic planning efforts. Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and build a business plan to execute on the market opportunities.
34; Identify potential risks to project schedules, budgets, and quality. Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure that safety protocols and quality standards are consistently followed.
34; Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring all parties meet project specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.
34; Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability, & Experience
34; Must have 8+ years' multi-family/restoration/construction experience
34; Must have 5+ years of experience as a people leader
34; Preferred -Bachelor's degree in Construction Management
34; Experience effectively communicating across different levels of the organization
34; Knowledge of and experience in cost containment and risk management
34; Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and Xactimate (and other estimating software) proficiency required
34; Strong problem-solving skills
34; Extensive knowledge in construction estimating
34; Strong organizational and time management skills
34; Excellent ability to prioritize, plan, and manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time
34; Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders
34; Possess excellent attention to detail
34; Ability to make sound decisions that positively affect project and profit outcomes
34; Ability to work independently as a self-starter
34; Must be able to work on-site at an office or jobsite as needed
34; Must be able to travel regionally or nationally as needed
34; Must be able to work overtime as needed to ensure job success
34; Must have a satisfactory driving record per insurance requirements
