Job Title: General Manager

Department: Lifestyle/Residential

Job Summary:

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of a business unit, facility, or location to ensure efficient performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role manages cross-functional teams, drives business growth, and ensures compliance with company policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership
  • Manage all aspects of daily operations including staffing, inventory, customer service, membership and facility management.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Monitor financial performance including budgets, expenses, and revenue to meet targets.
  • Coordinate with property management and community boards, as applicable, to align resident and membership offerings.
  • Identify, vet and manage relationships with vendors for equipment maintenance, repairs and facility upkeep.
  • Ensure all vendor work complies with facility safety standards and insurance requirements.

Team Management
  • Lead recruitment, training, and development of employees to build a strong, motivated team.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and high performance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and address employee relations issues as needed.
  • Prepare and submit payroll on a weekly basis.

Customer Experience
  • Ensure excellent customer service standards and respond to customer feedback or complaints promptly.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Provide wellness driven service offerings to resident and membership base such as personal training, group exercise classes and social lifestyle events.
  • Represent the building brand in all resident & member interactions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resident inquiries about fitness and wellness amenities.
  • Opportunity to provide personal training on a weekly basis for additional compensation. Must hold a personal training certification by an ARCH accepted institution.

Business Development & Membership
  • Collaborate with leadership to set sales targets, marketing initiatives, and growth strategies.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts as necessary.
  • Drive fitness membership sales through prospecting, outreach and tours.
  • Meet & exceed monthly fitness membership sales targets.
  • Process membership applications, contracts and payment setup.

Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and safety standards.
  • Oversee health and safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
