Business Unit Manager – Warehouse Automation & RoboticsBased near a US site or for internal applicants, Chihuahua, Mexico is an option.

The Business Unit Manager – Warehouse Automation & Robotics is a key business leader responsible for the overall success of an assigned customer portfolio, with full ownership of operational performance, financial results, customer satisfaction, and long-term program execution.

This role functions similarly to a General Manager, overseeing the complete customer lifecycle—from supporting the pursuit and quoting of new business opportunities through successful program launch, ongoing operations, and account management. In the early stages, the Business Unit Manager will partner with Business Development and Engineering teams to evaluate opportunities, participate in customer site visits, support proposal development, and help secure new business. Once programs are awarded, the Business Unit Manager assumes full responsibility for customer onboarding, operational execution, profitability, and customer relationship management.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of financial acumen, operational leadership, customer-facing experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What can you expect to do?Business Unit Leadership
  • Serve as the primary owner and leader of assigned customer accounts and business units.
  • Act as a key member of the plant leadership team, driving strategic and operational decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of customer commitments and business objectives.
  • Drive accountability across operations, supply chain, engineering, quality, and finance functions.
Customer Acquisition & Program Launch
  • Partner with Business Development and Engineering teams to support new business pursuits.
  • Participate in customer meetings, facility tours, site visits, and proposal presentations.
  • Support quoting activities, cost analysis, and proposal development for new opportunities.
  • Lead customer ramp-up activities following contract award to ensure a successful launch and transition into production.
Financial & P&L Management
  • Maintain full ownership of Business Unit financial performance, including revenue, profitability, margin, cash flow, and cost management.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement actions to achieve business objectives.
  • Evaluate program profitability, pricing strategies, and operational efficiency opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvements that enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer escalations, business reviews, and strategic discussions.
  • Build strong customer relationships focused on performance, transparency, and long-term partnership.
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews and operational reviews with customers.
  • Drive customer satisfaction, service excellence, and performance improvements.
Contracts, Pricing & Commercial Management
  • Lead customer negotiations related to pricing, shipments, schedules, scope changes, contract modifications, and contract extensions.
  • Ensure execution and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Manage pricing strategies, value-add opportunities, and commercial discussions that support profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Support change orders and new scope implementation throughout the program lifecycle.
Operations & Execution
  • Ensure successful manufacturing, fulfillment, and delivery of products to customers.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to meet customer requirements, delivery commitments, and performance metrics.
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks impacting delivery, quality, profitability, or customer satisfaction.
What is the experience needed to be successful in this role?
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, business unit management, program management, general management, finance, or business development related roles.
  • Experience managing customer-facing programs with operational and financial accountability.
  • Prior experience in automation, robotics, warehouse automation, industrial manufacturing, or complex engineered products strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, forecasting, margin analysis, and cash flow management preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, supply chain, and program execution.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Strong negotiation and customer management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time.

The pay range for this role is $115,500 - $207,900. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity. The anticipated close date of this job requisition is: December 31, 2026.

As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive based on performance. In addition, Jabil offers benefits to enhance your health, wealth, and resilient self. These include medical, dental, and vision insurance plans; paid time off accruing at a rate of 3.07 hours during your first year of employment; 4 weeks of paid parental leave; in 2026, 11 company-paid holidays (9 fixed holidays and 2 optional floating holidays), subject to change yearly; 401(k) retirement plan; and employee stock purchase plan.
