We help clients build reliable, scalable solutions through automation, modern frameworks, and now, AI-accelerated practices.

We don't just want a QE leader. We want one who knows how to embed AI into delivery, accelerate quality practices, and evangelize it internally and externally. This role will shape how AI transforms software quality at Slalom and in the broader industry, while also cultivating an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.

We offer a flexible working environment to balance the need to work independently, with some days that may require in-person collaboration at our office. A requirement for this role is to live within commutable distance to Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA.

What You'll Do

As Director, you'll provide leadership across our QE capability, go-to-market strategy, project delivery, and client partnerships. You'll play a key role in scaling our teams, driving technical excellence while cultivating team culture and community.

  • Works to proactively ignite awareness and generate demand for Capability and related client outcomes in the market. Leads Campaigns, RFIs, RFPs, workshops, and POCs to ignite specific opportunities.

Business Development & Sales
  • Partners with Industry aligned client partners and sales executives to identify and pursue potential opportunities related to technology-led outcomes.
  • Individually acts as a Solution Lead or SME in pursuit process, identifying appropriate SME from broader capability team as needed. Focuses on specific Customers aligned to Market strategy.
  • Participates in multi-capability solutioning and client outcome based selling motions with the GTM team, in the direction of the GTM lead.
  • Works together with peers in other markets and regions in similar roles in how we evolve our GTM approach.

Project Delivery Management
  • Define and lead modern QE + AI practices for complex client engagements, integrating quality engineering with AI-enabled development lifecycles from design through operations.
  • Drive delivery excellence across multiple teams and programs, ensuring speed, reliability, and high quality.
  • Build frameworks and playbooks (prompt libraries, evaluation harnesses, review bots, CI/CD hooks) to enable safe, scalable AI adoption across teams.
  • Establish responsible AI guardrails to ensure ethical, secure, and sustainable use of AI in software delivery.
  • Represent Slalom externally through speaking, writing, or thought leadership, advocating for the evolving role of QE and AI in modern engineering.
  • Measure and demonstrate impact by defining metrics for cycle time, quality outcomes, AI adoption, and client success.
  • Partner across capabilities (Data, DevOps, Security, Engineering) to embed AI consistently and responsibly in end-to-end delivery.
  • Mentor and grow leaders and engineers in QE and AI-accelerated practices, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and craft.
  • Build and scale teams: hiring, developing talent, and cultivating an inclusive, collaborative environment.
  • Influence business growth through client education, sales pursuits, and market engagement.

What You'll Bring
  • Deep experience in Quality Engineering and software delivery leadership, shaping and scaling practices across complex programs.
  • Proven track record of building and operating production software, including architecture and delivery leadership.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-accelerated development: daily use of AI coding tools, prompt/context engineering, LLM integration, and workflow orchestration.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud-native delivery, and DevOps (APIs, microservices, CI/CD, observability, and security).
  • Ability to translate AI and QE concepts into business value for executives, clients, and delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated passion for team culture and collaboration, with a history of building inclusive, high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and thought leadership skills: presenting ideas, writing, and advocating for the role of AI in QE.
  • A consultative mindset with the ability to balance client delivery, business growth, and capability development.

  • Familiarity with LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and vector databases.
