AI Architect (Enterprise AI Strategy & Governance)Location: Remote, EST Hours

Role OverviewWe are seeking a forward-thinking AI Architect to lead the design and rollout of a scalable, secure "Paved Road" approach for enterprise AI adoption. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and governance-ensuring AI capabilities are delivered as reusable, compliant products that accelerate innovation while minimizing risk.
What You'll DoAI Strategy & Prioritization- Evaluate enterprise-wide AI demand signals across business units and identify high-impact opportunities.
- Prioritize and define the first set of AI guardrails and capabilities to enable safe and scalable adoption.
- Partner with business and security leaders to align AI initiatives to strategic objectives and risk posture.
Operating Model Design- Design the AI "Paved Road" operating model, including squad structure, product ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and engagement models between engineering, security, and business stakeholders.
- Define success metrics and adoption KPIs to measure effectiveness and scale.
AI Productization- Define AI guardrails, platforms, and agents as internal products with clear value propositions, target users, and lifecycle ownership.
- Establish standards for onboarding, usage, and compliance across all AI-enabled solutions.
- Drive consistency in tooling, patterns, and reusable components across the enterprise.
Governance & Risk Management- Architect governance frameworks that balance speed and control, including policies for responsible AI usage.
- Design and implement exception ("off-ramp") models with appropriate isolation patterns and escalation paths.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure AI systems meet enterprise risk, compliance, and security standards.
Roadmap & Execution- Identify and prioritize AI use cases across key domains such as threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, control assurance, and identity.
- Develop and sequence a 6-month rollout roadmap with pilot teams, milestones, and decision gates.
- Recommend tooling and platform capabilities required to support enterprise AI adoption at scale.
What You'll Bring- Experience designing enterprise AI, data, or cloud architectures in complex environments.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML platforms, LLMs, and emerging AI technologies.
- Proven ability to build operating models, governance frameworks, and product-oriented platforms.
- Experience partnering with security and risk teams on regulated or high-compliance systems.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to lead executive-level discussions.
Preferred Experience- Background in cybersecurity, platform engineering, or enterprise architecture.
- Experience defining AI governance policies or responsible AI frameworks.
- Familiarity with product-based delivery models and internal platform design.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $95/hr-$115/hr. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
