Full Job Description
Responsibilities

Technica Corporation is seeking highly skilled Functional Tester who will support the product team by planning, executing, and documenting functional, regression, and smoke testing activities across a modern services-based application environment. This role focuses on validating requirements, ensuring traceability, and supporting high‑quality feature delivery. Candidates should be comfortable executing structured manual testing with some exposure to modern automated testing tools (Swagger/OpenAPI, unit-level testing).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute requirement‑level functional tests, smoke tests, and regression test cycles.
  • Create, document, and maintain test cases, test data, and test results in Jira or similar tools.
  • Validate defects, isolate issues, reproduce failures, and coordinate retest activities.
  • Ensure adherence to 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Support automated testing efforts where possible (API testing tools, Swagger/OpenAPI validation, unit test review).
  • Ensure end‑to‑end traceability between requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases.
  • Participate in backlog refinement and requirement clarification sessions with the Product Owner and Business Analysts.
  • Provide feedback to developers and product staff regarding system behavior, edge cases, and risk areas.
  • Support integration testing and verification of data flows across services as needed.

The position would be located at a government facility in Washington, D.C. and require work to be performed onsite. Any hybrid work schedule would require customer approval. The government has established policies for on-site vs hybrid work which varies across divisions and contracts. Where allowed, remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services.

The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 – $130,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Technica considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, location, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT Technology or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of testing experience.
  • Experience performing functional, regression, and smoke testing.
