Your Opportunity

Within Retail Web Technology, the Software Developer II will help design, build, test, and support scalable web applications that improve the digital experience for Schwab’s retail clients. Working across front-end and back-end technologies, you will solve complex problems, make thoughtful technical decisions, and deliver reliable solutions using modern development practices.

 

You will collaborate within a distributed Agile team, contribute to software quality and application support, and help teammates grow through knowledge sharing and constructive feedback. Success requires adaptability, attention to detail, continuous learning, and a commitment to translating client needs into measurable digital outcomes.

 

What you have

Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of full-stack web development experience, with an emphasis on front-end development
  • Experience developing web applications using C# and .NET Core
  • Experience using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting scalable software applications
  • Experience creating and consuming REST APIs
  • Experience applying Agile Fundamentals within a Scrum-based delivery team
  • Demonstrated Problem Solving, Analytical Thinking, and Decision Making skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams, locations, and time zones
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly through verbal and written communication

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Angular, TypeScript, and client-side application frameworks
  • Experience developing responsive, single-page applications
  • Experience applying unit-testing practices, including test-driven or behavior-driven development
  • Knowledge of software design principles, security controls, and application maintenance practices
  • Experience with containerization or orchestration technologies
  • Demonstrated Adaptability, Attention to Detail, and Continuous Learning
  • Experience supporting or mentoring less-experienced software developers
