What will you do?
  • As a Full Stack Software Developer, you have a solid technical foundation, and a strong focus on growing your development skills; You're able to deliver small to medium-sized well-defined tasks, working individually or pairing with others and you have a small amount of experience in a well-defined area
  • You will be part of a team creating new services and customer-facing applications using the latest technologies which will shape the future of banking for RBC; You will develop and support highly scalable, high-performance APIs within an Agile development team
  • Ensure high code quality through automated unit and functional testing
  • Automate processes within the development pipeline; identify opportunities for efficiency gains and reducing time-to-market, and enabling continuous delivery
  • Design and develop code structures based on technical design defined by the team
  • Work within an Agile product team comprised of technical, product and business team members to deliver exceptional products
  • You will actively seek out knowledge about new technologies and how they can be used to solve current and foreseeable challenges
  • Excellent communication including the ability to distill technical details into human terms


What do you need to succeed?

Must have:
  • 2+ years' experience in full-stack development with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects.
  • Multiple years of experience in designing and maintaining web-based applications, architectures and frameworks including wire frames and mock-ups (using tooling like Figma or related).
  • Solid understanding and hands on of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
  • Working knowledge of the Java programming language and supporting frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Spring cloud.
  • Hands-on experience with non-relational database technologies such as Redis, Elastic and MongoDB
  • Proficiency in building data services and managing application state using NGXS/NgRx or similar.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related front-end technologies - Angular, NodeJS etc.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX principles and responsive design techniques and WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).
  • Hands-On experience with OpenShift, Urban Code Deploy, GitHub, Jenkins and GitHub Actions deployment methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and autonomously.
  • Strong business communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly refining requirements directly from business stakeholders and working with ambiguities.
  • Willingness to accept leadership accountability and manage items across squads.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in manipulating large disparate data sets from multiple sources in multiple formats.


Nice-to-have:
  • Knowledge and experience with Google Analytics.
  • Agile mindset and ability to balance priority and workload.
  • Understanding of the ETL frameworks - python etc.
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental data concepts (for example, hierarchies, data structures) and SDLC.
  • Experience with Jira, GitHub.
