As a Full Stack Developer on our dynamic Fusion Technology team, you will play a key role in designing and building modern digital experiences, with the majority of your work focused on front-end development, UX design, and user-centered interfaces. Working alongside a cross-functional team throughout the software development lifecycle, you will translate product requirements into wireframes, interactive prototypes, and responsive applications that deliver exceptional user experiences. Reporting to the Manager, Cloud Solutions & Architecture, you will use modern front-end frameworks, design systems, Figma, and AI-assisted development tools to create intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling solutions while collaborating across the broader application architecture.

Way of working: This full-time position follows a hybrid schedule with two in-office days (Tuesdays and Thursdays) per week at our Richmond VA office.

First consideration will be given to qualified candidates who currently reside within approximately 50-60 miles of Richmond, VA and can consistently meet the required Tuesday and Thursday onsite schedule.

What you will do/Key responsibilities

• Partner with product owners, developers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate product requirements into clear, user-centered interface solutions.
• Build responsive, accessible front-end applications with polished visual design and intuitive functionality.
• Interactive Prototyping: Build clickable, realistic models in Figma to demonstrate user flows, interface states, and micro-interactions before coding.
• Design Systems: Create, scale, document, and maintain reusable component libraries and style guides to support product consistency.
• Wireframing: Translate rough product requirements into skeletal structural layouts that clarify content, navigation, and interaction patterns.
• Typography and Color Theory: Establish readable text hierarchies, effective font pairings, accessible color palettes, contrast ratios, and dark and light mode variations.
• Layout and Grid Systems: Structure responsive interfaces that adapt smoothly across mobile, tablet, and desktop screens.
• Test front-end code and designs for functionality, usability, accessibility, browser compatibility, and performance.
• Troubleshoot front-end issues, document implementation details, and continuously improve the user experience.
• Use AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code, responsibly and in alignment with standards for data governance, security, and ethical use.

What you will bring/Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field, or combination of equivalent education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience required

• 3-5 years of full stack software development experience with a strong focus on front-end development, UI engineering, or digital product design.
• Proficiency with Angular and modern JavaScript or TypeScript development.
• Strong experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, and component-based front-end architecture.
• Proficiency with Figma for wireframing, interactive prototyping, component libraries, and design handoff.
• Hands-on experience using Claude Code as part of the front-end development workflow.
• Experience creating and maintaining design systems, reusable UI components, and style guides.
• Working knowledge of typography, color theory, accessible contrast, layout, and grid systems.
• Experience applying WCAG accessibility standards and testing interfaces with assistive technologies.
• Experience with version control systems and collaborative code review practices.
• Familiarity with backend application architectures and API integrations, with the ability to collaborate effectively with backend developers on end-to-end solutions.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot, solve problems, and communicate design and implementation decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Azure and DevOps.
• Familiarity with Playwright

What we offer

Annualized base pay range is $61,300 - $101,600

Actual base pay may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. Employees may also qualify for performance-based bonuses, merit increases, and other incentives based on individual and company performance. The availability and amount of these additional compensation elements are determined by company policy and may vary.
