Role Summary: Amazon is looking for a results-oriented individual to join the AWS Energy Team as an Fuel Delivery Manager. In this role, you will support AWS's infrastructure expansion by leading natural gas infrastructure projects that supply fuel to large-scale natural gas generation facilities across AWS regions. This role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable, cost-effective natural gas supply to power AWS data centers. The candidate must be able to manage the execution of multiple large-scale natural gas infrastructure projects across different US geographies. The candidate will manage interactions with gas utilities, pipeline operators, and local distribution companies (LDCs), and work with internal and external engineering, real estate, and planning teams to deliver gas infrastructure to serve AWS campuses. This includes but is not limited to managing EPC vendors, gas utility interconnects, metering and regulation stations (M&R), and pipeline laterals to meet AWS's needs. The candidate will work as part of an integrated team to implement fuel program requirements and deliver tangible reliability and cost-saving results. The ideal candidate will possess a strong natural gas infrastructure background and a proven track record of permitting, constructing, and commissioning gas pipelines, interconnects, and related facilities. The candidate will have experience working with gas utilities, pipeline operators, and regulatory agencies to develop, permit, contract, and deliver natural gas infrastructure. The right candidate will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, operations, and technical challenges, with the skill set to drive tactical execution of project schedules, contracts, initiatives, and team goals. By establishing and growing business and technical relationships, and managing day-to-day interactions with these partners, you will be responsible for ensuring the fuel infrastructure requirements needed to support AWS's global infrastructure expansion are met. A key focus of this role is proactively identifying and flagging risks to natural gas delivery schedules and ensuring those risks are communicated and mitigated in a manner that informs overall datacenter delivery timelines. This role requires domestic travel (up to 20%). Key job responsibilities • Manage multiple EPC vendors, gas utilities, pipeline operators, and Owner's Engineers to deliver a portfolio of in-flight natural gas infrastructure projects including pipelines, laterals, metering and regulation (M&R) stations, and interconnect facilities. • Oversee the permitting, construction, and commissioning of natural gas infrastructure to ensure on-time delivery aligned with datacenter commissioning schedules. • Proactively identify, flag, and mitigate risks to project schedules, communicating impacts to datacenter delivery timelines to internal stakeholders. • Manage capital budgets for natural gas infrastructure projects. • Collaborate with internal teams and gas utilities on the implementation and management of fuel infrastructure projects in a timely and accurate fashion. • Coordinate project schedule and risks with internal teams to ensure data center build timeline is informed by gas delivery. • Identify and develop innovative cost-saving projects and initiatives related to natural gas infrastructure and supply. • Work with gas utility regulators, pipeline operators, and permitting agencies to develop policies and guidelines that enable broader AWS strategies and objectives. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience - Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds - Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to natural gas infrastructure (i.e., pipelines, metering and regulation, compression, gas quality) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline preferred - The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills - Experience permitting, engineering, constructing, or commissioning natural gas pipelines, metering and regulation stations, gas conditioning technologies, or other gas infrastructure - Experience managing EPC vendors delivering natural gas infrastructure projects - Knowledge of applicable codes and standards for natural gas infrastructure (e.g., DOT 49 CFR 192, NFPA 54/55, ASME B31.8) - Experience working with gas utilities, pipeline operators, local distribution companies (LDCs), and regulatory agencies - Experience with IT infrastructure, data centers, and cloud services - Experience with power generation delivery and electrical infrastructure (HV/MV) - Strong Bias for Action with an ability to look around corners and deliver results for the business The base salary range for this position is listed below.
