The opportunity

Join our EY Assurance service line within the FSO (Financial Services Office) Labs team, where we develop advanced technologies in AI, automation, and data analytics for the financial services industry. You will join a group of experienced professionals with deep technology expertise and business understanding, bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI technology and actionable audit technology.

Your key responsibilities

As an Applications Systems Engineer - AI Developer Staff, you will work on developing and deploying AI-enabled solutions, working across multiple teams and industries to solve complex problems and improve audit efficiency and quality.

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems management, accounting, finance or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of the following experiences but will consider less years in experience for strong candidates
  • End-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC), including analysis, planning design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Enterprise integration design patterns, microservices design and development, and middleware platforms including integrations, or application programming interface (API)
  • Azure cloud services and deployment strategies
  • Implementing and optimizing data structures for efficient data storage and retrieval in applications
  • Minimum of 2 years of software development experience in Python, and frontend technologies (preferably Angular or React)
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary


  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver's license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations


Ideally, you'll also have

A combination of experience in at least 4 of any the following areas:
  • Integrating AI/ML features into production applications.
  • Translating business requirements into software design and managing the development lifecycle.
  • Deploying applications on Microsoft Azure, including Azure Storage and Azure Functions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement secure web applications.
  • Designing and maintaining big-data solutions such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
  • Frontend development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, C++, C#, Java, TypeScript, Hive, R, or NoSQL.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

What we offer you
  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $76,600 to $126,300. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $91,800 to $143,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
