Job Description:

Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by delivering financial analysis, predictive modeling, and strategic insights, while developing plans that help leadership adapt and sustain operations as follows:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs in-depth financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis using MS Excel and other data analytic tools.
  • Generates and presents insightful reports and presentations to peers, leaders, and business partners.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams to gather, validate, and interpret financial data.
  • Participates in the budget and forecasting processes, including maintaining tools that independently test budget assumptions and outputs for accuracy.
  • Creates and maintains tools that enhance departmental performance, optimize billing compliance, maintain data integrity, identify revenue opportunities, and minimize risk.
  • Assists in the continuous improvement of FP&A processes and methodologies.
  • Provides financial analysis for initiatives, grant budget development, and business opportunities.
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis for business partners, service line leaders, and others as necessary to provide decision support.
  • Presents analytics, methodology and recommendations to leaders.
  • Leverages partner knowledge, including Business Intelligence, to analyze data sets and provide feedback on findings.
  • Applies generative AI tools through effective prompting to accelerate financial analysis, automate routine reporting tasks, and surface insights from complex data sets, while validating outputs for accuracy.
  • Supports the FP&A teams quality assurance efforts by providing trusted guidance, documented processes, and accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: Three years experience with financial and statistical data, report building and interpretation, and analysis required. Proficiency in advanced financial and statistical modeling with Excel required. Strong data analysis, transformation, and interpretation skills required. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required. Solid understanding of financial principles and forecasting techniques required. Experience with healthcare related data and business processes preferred. Working knowledge of budgeting software and analytic/report writing programs preferred. Working knowledge of SQL for querying, extracting, and transforming data from relational databases preferred. Experience building reports, dashboards, and data visualizations in Microsoft Power BI preferred. Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.

Confidentiality, flexibility, accuracy, and thoroughness required. Adaptability to changing business needs and priorities, while meeting deadlines throughout the month, required. Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear, use vision, stand, sit and be mobile. Required to read from text and computer screens over two-thirds of the time. The employee will use hands to finger, handle or feel. Communicating occurs constantly throughout the day. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
