Objective:
Reporting to the Global Controller, you will play a central role in the financial success of Joseph Ribkoff. You will be accountable for the integrity of our financial results, the strength of our operational controls and the quality of the information that the business uses to make decisions. Joseph Ribkoff is a company in motion, and you will have real influence over how we work and where we improve. You will work with a team of accounting professionals, collaborate with colleagues across departments, and be a trusted voice when the business needs to understand what the numbers mean.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the accounting operations of the Canadian and United States divisions;
- Lead the monthly and annual close for the Canadian and United States divisions and help interpret the results
- Manage the North American year end audit as part of the global consolidation
- Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Manage Canadian and United States tax compliance alongside our internal and external advisors
- Play a lead role in improving our accounting ERP, the automation of accounts payable, travel expenses, and reconciliation processes
- Responsible for managing and leading the Accounts Payables team and function.
- Builds and maintain relationships with vendors, key management, and other department leaders in the organization Collaborates with Treasury to manage vendor payments;
- Prepare and maintain monthly cash flow projection;
- Play a vital role in recruiting, retaining, training, and motivating the accounting and accounts payable teams.
- Play a vital role in recruitment and coaching the company's accounting team
Required Qualifications:
- University degree in Business/Accounting
- Professional Accounting Designation is an asset
- 7+ years' experience in a related Accounting/Finance Management role
- Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written). - Due to the nature of the position and regular interactions with customers, business partners, and/or colleagues outside of Quebec, fluency in both French and English (spoken and written) is required to ensure effective communication and high-quality service.
- Working knowledge of both Canadian and United States compliance and tax requirements
- Multi entity, multi-currency experience. consolidation and intercompany exposure is a strong asset
- Experience with a mid-market or enterprise ERP like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations is an asset
- Experience with ERP
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, curious about AI, and the instinct to want to automate any recurring manual task
