Field Vice President, Specialty Respiratory Business Unit (West Coast)

Location: Washington, California, Arizona, Texas, Kansas, Colorado

Position Summary

Within the Specialty Business Unit (SBU), the Specialty Respiratory division is focused on delivering and expanding GSK's aligned specialty pipeline assets.

As Field Vice President, you will lead the field commercial team for respiratory biologics in the Northeast Sector of the US. You will set strategy, coach leaders, and drive execution to achieve growth and prepare for as well as execute product launches. You will work closely with marketing, medical, market access, patient services, health systems accounts, and other external partners. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Sales and offers meaningful impact on patient care, visible growth opportunities, and the chance to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together.

Key Responsibilities

In addition to building, coaching, and inspiring a high-performing Specialty sales organization, you will be accountable for:
  • Leading and inspiring a high-performing sector field team to meet commercial goals and deliver excellent customer engagement.
  • Providing leadership, coaching, in-field support, and operational direction to a team of Regional Sales Directors.
  • Translating brand strategy into clear execution plans with measurable KPIs and performance tracking, aligned to national objectives.
  • Accelerating growth with Specialty Respiratory in-line brands and leading successful launches of new GSK Specialty respiratory assets.
  • Developing and executing cross-functional business plans in partnership with brand marketing, medical, patient services, market access, health systems, tech, legal, and compliance.
  • Designing and partnering on field organization structure, territory alignment, incentives, and performance management to optimize impact.
  • Overseeing daily field operations, ensuring compliance, high-quality customer interactions, and effective use of technology, analytics, and emerging capabilities (e.g., AI integration).
  • Using market insights and performance data to refine strategy, inform senior leadership decisions, and identify competitive opportunities to grow the business.
  • Driving organizational change and galvanizing teams to accelerate adoption of new sales tools, approaches, and digital/data-driven capabilities.
  • Maintaining a current understanding of the respiratory disease area and competitive landscape, including account systems, formulary decisions, and order sets.
  • Attracting, recruiting, and retaining high-caliber team members, providing coaching, career development, and building a culture of sales excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Representing the field voice in cross-functional forums and advocating for market needs and resource allocation.

Basic Qualifications

We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical commercial experience, including field sales leadership.
  • 3+ years managing managers or multi-layer sales structures.
  • Experience with minimum 2 commercial functions (e.g. sales leadership, marketing, market access, operations).
  • Valid driver's license and to travel domestically, including overnight travel.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.


Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Advanced degrees such as an MBA or related field.
  • Direct experience in biologics or specialty product franchises (e.g., Buy & Bill, Specialty Pharmacy).
  • Proven track record launching specialty or biologic products.
  • Experience working with contract sales organizations or vendor partners.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with experience setting KPIs and incentive plans.
  • Experience leading change programs and integrating new digital or data-driven sales capabilities.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and measuring success with account systems, formulary decisions and order sets.
  • Ability to translate market insights into competitive opportunities to grow the business.
  • High sense of urgency and effective decision-making.
  • Proven developer of people and organizations, with strong motivational and leadership skills.
  • Strong executive-level communication skills.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with a track record of consistent high performance.

The US annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $223,500 to $372,500. The US salary ranges take into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate's skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. Available benefits include health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
