Job Description Summary
The Field Services Manager is responsible for leading the PT NAM Canada Field Services organization for Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) technologies, including circuit breakers and disconnectors. This role is accountable for implementing the PT Field Services Operations strategy, driving operational excellence, and ensuring safe, high-quality execution of field activities. The successful candidate will foster a culture of safety, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and technical excellence while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Canada AIS Field Services organization, including workforce planning, labor utilization, overtime management, and resource forecasting.
  • Effectively manage field service personnel by establishing clear priorities, optimizing technician scheduling, and ensuring adequate resources to meet business demands.
  • Develop, manage, and continuously improve technician training, certification, and competency development programs.
  • Ensure field teams have the appropriate tools and equipment required to perform their work safely and efficiently by partnering with the Tooling Manager on capital investment (CAPEX), calibration programs, maintenance, and lifecycle management of the Canadian tooling fleet.
  • Drive operational excellence by continuously improving field execution processes, productivity, and deployment strategies across all service projects.
  • Oversee mechanical and electrical installation, commissioning, and field execution activities while ensuring compliance with project scope, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Make timely, informed decisions that contribute to the success of the Field Services organization and support overall business objectives.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members by promoting career growth, technical competency, and leadership development.
  • Anticipate operational challenges, proactively identify risks, and implement effective solutions before issues impact project execution.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in field service, projects, or related technical organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical field service projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS), including circuit breakers and disconnectors.
  • Proven commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) excellence within construction and field service environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities with limited direction.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with engineering, product management, project management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working within a global and multicultural organization.
  • Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset.

Responsabilités principales

  • Diriger et superviser l’organisation des Services sur le Terrain AIS au Canada, incluant la planification des effectifs, l’utilisation de la main-d’œuvre, la gestion des heures supplémentaires et la prévision des besoins en ressources.
  • Gérer efficacement les équipes de techniciens en établissant des priorités claires, en optimisant la planification des interventions et en assurant la disponibilité des ressources nécessaires pour répondre aux besoins de l’entreprise.
  • Développer, gérer et améliorer continuellement les programmes de formation, de certification et de développement des compétences des techniciens de terrain.
  • Veiller à ce que les équipes disposent des outils et équipements nécessaires pour effectuer leur travail de manière sécuritaire et efficace, en collaboration avec le gestionnaire de l’outillage pour les investissements en immobilisations (CAPEX), les programmes d’étalonnage, l’entretien et la gestion du parc d’outillage au Canada.
  • Piloter l’excellence opérationnelle en améliorant continuellement les processus d’exécution, la productivité et le déploiement des équipes sur les projets de services.
  • Superviser les activités d’installation mécanique et électrique, de mise en service et d’exécution sur le terrain, tout en assurant le respect de la portée des travaux, des exigences de qualité et des attentes des clients.
