Full Job Description
Field Operator Lead - Kaybob

Reporting to the Production Foreman, the Field Operator Lead will place a high priority on health, safety and environment. The chosen candidate will work independently, exercise judgement in the selection of work methods and provide leadership to a multi-disciplinary work team. This position requires a full, in-depth knowledge of production facilities, including major sweet gas compressors and sour field gas battery facilities. The chosen candidate will work in the Fox Creek area, in a sour gas and condensate field. The successful candidate will be based out of Fox Creek or Whitecourt, AB.

Job functions will involve:

  • Environment, Health & Safety must be a priority
  • Support and initiate safe work practices, following all Paramount policies and procedures
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to co-workers and contractors, and able to act as a delegate for field foremen
  • Maintain/operate sweet and sour upstream oil and gas wells, facilities and equipment
  • Identifying deficiencies and recommending corrections to existing procedures to ensure the assigned field meets performance standards
  • Assist Production Foreman to maintain operations, reliability and reporting
  • Closely monitor costs and production to ensure objectives are achieved or forecasts exceeded
  • Perform regulatory compliance checks; maintain compliance with Paramount, AER and other regulatory agencies
  • Ensure operations are carried out in a cost-effective manner
  • Contribute to the team achievement of meeting business, environmental, health and safety targets


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completed GPO/PFO certificate and/or 4th Class Power Engineering is required
  • Minimum 8 years of operating experience
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision, time management and organizational effectiveness are critical to this position. Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments
  • Previous experience in leading a team in a supervisory capacity - demonstrating leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and an ability to foster teamwork
  • A disciplined work ethic, self-motivated, positive attitude and strong desire to contribute is essential
  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs. Must be able to learn, adhere and work with all Paramount based software programs
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Will be required to work an 8&6 shift (Wednesday-Wednesday, 10-hour days)
  • Must be willing to be on call and work overtime when required
