Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Senior Superintendents and Superintendents on-site.
  • Oversee project development, including job site visits and estimating review.
  • Assist in the scope writing and bid procurement processes.
  • Develop and manage large, complex project schedules.
  • Hold regular meetings to ensure proper project execution and documentation.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate staff to achieve team goals.
  • Conduct weekly job site visits and safety meetings to ensure compliance and communication.

Full Job Description
The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently hiring a Field Operations Director, NDB to join our National Design Build team in Dallas, TX. This role will be responsible for all business unit operations and financial outcomes within the assigned region. Additional responsibilities may include:

Leadership
  • Lead the regional NDB Team.
  • Expand the McKinstry business model into other markets in the region.
  • Develop McKinstry's brand with local and state government entities as a Prime MEP.
  • Design Build leader for energy intensive projects, energy infrastructure, prime integrator of mission critical (Data Center) white space fitouts.
  • Build and maintain relationships within industry leaders, associations and organizations.
  • Promote National Design Build Services externally and internally.

Team Management
  • Develop and execute regional strategic and tactical business plans in collaboration with the Business Unit Director.
  • Recruit, develop and retain employees.
  • Develop staffing plans; make recommendations regarding actions, including hiring, necessary to maintain balanced work and staffing levels.
  • Create and manage opportunity pursuit processes: lead generation, sales, proposal creation and customer services delivery.
  • Develop and control regional business unit budgets.
  • Develop and communicate key business metrics.
  • Deliver profitable revenues and margins.
  • Ensure that all work complies with applicable safety policies, codes, and regulations.

Business Development
  • Assess potential for expansion of the McKinstry business model into additional markets in the region.
  • Develop ways to profitably integrate National Design Build sales proposals, product offerings, processes and procedures.
  • Define business unit sales policies.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients.
  • Achieve regional business unit employee utilization goals.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency of all the responsibilities of a Sr. Director of Operations or equivalent.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint and Salesforce preferred.
  • Four (4) year college level training in architecture, architectural engineering, engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Fifteen (15) years of prime construction project team and/or design team management experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial management programs and software required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Physical ability to navigate jobsites in uneven terrain.
  • Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed.

The pay range for this position is $189,100 - $287,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
