The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking a Senior Building Operating Engineer to join our ActiveOps Technical Services team in Tampa, FL. McKinstry has a unique perspective on the life of a building, andourTechnical Services suite of owner-direct offeringsassists clients in making the best decisions to improve the efficiency, comfort, sustainability, and lifespan of their building.

The Technical Services team provides technical and strategic consulting services to make every building we touch more efficient. Our highly diverse group touches buildings of all kinds, from schools to hospitals to downtown high rises, with the intent to drive efficiency and optimization in every aspect of operations.

As a Senior Building Operating Engineer, you will ensure our projects' success through on-site management of subcontractors and maintenance of client relationships. You will act as an onsite face of McKinstry, performing quality control checks of HVAC installations, providing recommendations on system upgrades and energy efficient alternatives and communicate with clients by providing technical guidance and support.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
• Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, equipment, and components.
• OSHA 10 and 30 certifications required or must be obtained within 6 months of assuming position.
• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
• Six (6) years of leadership of trades and job sites preferred.
• Relevant HVAC certifications or licenses, such as EPA 608 certification for handling refrigerants.
• BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture or Facilities Management or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

The pay range for this position is $84,060 - $122,760 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
