Description
Field InspectorDelve Underground is looking for full-time field inspectors to deliver world class infrastructure projects. The candidates must be ambitious and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have a strong background in geotechnical testing and inspection and NICET or ICC certifications will be considered a plus.
The ideal candidates will be local to western Pennsylvania, with a strong understanding of the Pittsburgh area and take pride in seeing its infrastructure flourish. We are seeking individuals who will embody our strong local work ethic and excel as a seller-doer, playing a key role in expanding Delve Underground's presence in the region. These positions may require occasional travel to support projects based in other offices/cities as well as supporting ongoing local work.
Responsibilities for field inspector: - Able to work in an office or construction site environment. Work outside in the elements, for extended hours or on weekends may be required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
- Able to represent Delve Underground in a professional manner in front of clients, contractors and the public.
- Strong geotechnical testing and inspection experience. NICET for soils International Code Council (ICC) certification is a plus.
- Able to problem solve (as part of a team), speak up when problems arise and confront problems in a professional manner.
- Must have experience with performing work safely on active construction sites. OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
- Work in a team environment and help promote a positive culture.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and contract documents.
- Prepare daily field reports.
Qualifications:- At least three years of recent experience in heavy civil construction for large and complex engineering/construction projects.
- Prior experience on tunnelling projects, including trenchless tunneling experience, preferred.
- Knowledge of construction-related processes and industry practices.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as a respirator; meet physical demands of the position such as walking, standing, lifting up to 40 Lbs., climbing ladders, bending, squatting, and crawling in tight spaces to safely access work sites.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook. Preferred knowledge of Visio, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and organizational skills
