PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Mechanical Field Engineer at Worley is a key contributor to the successful execution of construction projects by providing on-site engineering expertise, ensuring alignment with design specifications, and facilitating seamless communication between project teams. This role plays an essential part in bridging engineering designs with real-world construction site conditions to deliver sustainable and high-quality project outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret and analyze engineering designs, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and feasibility of execution.


  • Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and smooth project execution.


  • Provide on-site technical expertise and resources during construction phases, addressing any design modifications or adjustments required to meet site conditions.


  • Oversee construction supervision activities, ensuring that work is executed in accordance with approved plans and specifications.


  • Make independent technical decisions for smaller projects and studies while considering financial, social, and environmental impacts within the company framework.


  • Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks of completed construction tasks to ensure alignment with design specifications and industry best practices.


  • Participate in regular project meetings to provide construction progress updates, address technical challenges, and propose viable solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLSET

  • University degree, or equivalent, in a related engineering field, or a relevant trade qualification combined with further industry-specific training and experience.


  • Proven experience in a Field Engineer role, preferably within the mechanical discipline or in the Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) sector.


  • Strong understanding of construction principles, methodologies, and best practices.


  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering designs, blueprints, and technical specifications.


  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed technical decisions.


  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.


  • Knowledge of safety regulations, industry codes, and applicable construction standards.


  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and coordinate across disciplines.


  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality and accurate work.


  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
