Full Job Description
You as an Field Engineer - Formwork will:
- Provide formwork inspections and formwork sign-off reports to various project sites across Alberta
- Provide support to ED Forming's competent worker training program and administration.
- Provide support to ED Forming in pursuit and pre-planning and material scheduling/selection, working with the project supers on pour planning and best practices
- Provide support on other inspections and planning for the equipment division where on-site review in planning will help (e.g. Scaffolding concepts or hoist reshoring inspections)
- Support Alberta offices' Permit to Practice compliance, providing a technical leader in the area that can help EIT's.
- Promote a culture of continual improvement, self-awareness, inclusion, and accountability.
- Take an active role in mentoring/coaching/people development.
- Provide technical input on proposals, schematic, and design development budgeting/proposals.
- Actively identify potential areas for cost savings or value-engineering on projects.
- Actively identify pitfalls on projects and address/resolve issues early.
- Self-manage workload, identify priorities, and execute to deadlines.
Is this the right role for you?
- You have active P.Eng. In Alberta with a "practicing" status with APEGA.
- Having a P.Eng license in any of the surrounding provinces or territories an asset.
- You have 4+ years of experience in formwork analysis and design.
- You have familiarity with Autodesk drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
- You have working knowledge with temporary structures (formwork, falsework, scaffold, cranes, hoists, etc.).
- Must have, or be eligible for, CSID (PWSGC) Secret Level Security Clearance.
