Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate on-site mechanical and electrical activities according to specifications and codes.
  • Collaborate on drawings and information to avoid interference issues.
  • Direct functional performance testing for all mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Assist in scheduling and managing mechanical and electrical project requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance on plans, detail sheets, and specifications to contractors.
  • Report labor costs and monitor material usage for project estimates.
  • Resolve conflicts in structural, architectural, and engineering documentation and liaise with subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance of construction work with engineering standards and design guidelines.

Full Job Description
You as an M&E Superintendent will:
  • Plan, direct and coordinate on-site mechanical and electrical activities to comply with specifications, requirements and codes.
  • Coordinate all relevant drawings and information to eliminate interference problems
  • Provide direction during functional performance testing of all mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Assist Project Managers and Project superintendents in updating and achieving schedule requirements, mechanical and electrical RFI's and shop drawings and administrate mechanical/electrical project completion requirements.
  • Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications for contractors.
  • Report accurate quantities for labour cost reports and accurately monitor material ledgers to ensure quantities in estimate are sufficient to complete the project.
  • Find solutions to conflicts in structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications and follow-up with consultants and sub-trades to completion.
  • Ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction.

  • You have a Electrical or Mechanical Engineering related degree/diploma and at least 10 years of mechanical and electrical construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • You have a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering systems, principles and practices.
  • You have the ability to proactively identify and document any problems/conflicts and effectively manage and resolve them.
  • You have a working knowledge surveying techniques, surveying equipment standards and procedures.
  • You have the ability to conceptualize drawings and identify potential construction conflicts.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Superintendents and Project Managers
  • Able to perform in a fast paced environment.
  • Salary Range for this role is $100,000-115,000 CAD
