What you’ll be doing...
You will manage the day-to-day operations of a field crew responsible for maintaining and installing Verizon's Network. You will be actively coaching, motivating and supporting your team’s professional development. You will be leading and guiding a team of union-represented employees promoting outstanding customer service in a safe working environment. You will be managing multiple tasks and prioritizing based upon the ever-changing environment and daily service delivery situations.
· Training, coaching, and counseling direct reports through observing employee quality and safety performance.
· Engaging with employees to manage, evaluate and meet team performance and business metrics.
· Conducting employee performance appraisals and communicating feedback effectively.
· Supporting the installation, maintenance, and construction of network services.
· Evaluating trends in data and identifies the root cause of issues to develop solutions to customer service or network issues.
· Interacting with customers as needed to ensure service satisfaction.
· Managing mandatory training on compliance, safety, systems and general process changes.
· Maintaining and securing administrative records for tracking employee attendance, records of work performed, training completed and other important metrics.
· Resolving grievances and workplace issues to maintain and enhance a positive working environment.
· Traveling is required within work geography. It may be overnight at times depending on geography.

You’ll need to have:
· Four or more years of relevant experience are required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
· Three or more years’ experience in Outside Plant Design, Engineering and Planning with technical knowledge of OSP underground systems and typical construction standards.
· Three or more years’ experience reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications, municipal agencies' codes and standard specifications and methods of municipal construction including excavation, trenching, and sheeting.
· Experience managing telecom interferences on municipal construction projects and strong negotiation, communication and cost-estimating skills.
· Experience in managing and leading cross-functional teams.
· Valid driver's license.
· Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% or more of the time.
· Willingness to work extended hours when necessary, including weekends, holidays, after hours and on-call as required for the needs of the business.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
· A degree
· Experience in the telecommunications or technology industry.
· Experience administering processes and policies as they relate to: safety, attendance, performance work rules and code of conduct.
· Strong communication skills.
· Knowledge of outside plant network architecture including copper and fiber optics.
· Experience in using Google Workspace suite, including tools such as Drive, Gmail, Meet, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
· Experience using virtual collaboration tools (i.e. Meet, Zoom, and Slack etc.).
