About the Role:

The Field Account Manager - Federal Government is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of Federal Government accounts within the Washington, DC market. This role focuses on both retaining existing revenue and driving new growth opportunities through strategic account management, relationship building, and consultative selling. The successful candidate will work closely with federal agencies to understand their business needs, maximize the value of LexisNexis solutions, and identify opportunities to expand partnerships. This is a field-based position requiring regular in-person client meetings and attendance at the Washington, DC office every Monday.

Responsibilities:

Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of Federal Government agency accounts.
  • Retain existing revenue while identifying opportunities to expand business through upselling and cross-selling solutions.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve revenue retention and growth objectives.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from opportunity identification through proposal development, negotiation, and close.

  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking within CRM tools.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within assigned Federal Government agencies.
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve customer issues and ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Represent LexisNexis at industry events, customer meetings, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Conduct regular face-to-face meetings with customers and prospects throughout the assigned territory.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in Account Management, Client Management, Business Development, or Consultative Sales.
  • Demonstrated success managing customer relationships and growing existing business.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience developing strategic account plans and managing sales pipelines.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Must reside within the Washington, DC metropolitan area (DC, Maryland, or Virginia).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience selling to or supporting Federal Government agencies.
  • Experience within Legal Technology, Legal Information Services, SaaS, Data Analytics, or Information Solutions industries.
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA, JD, or related graduate degree.
  • Interest in or exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and AI-enabled business solutions.
  • Experience working in a field sales environment with regular customer-facing interactions.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $65,600 - $109,200. Total Target Cash Range: $100,900 - $168,200. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.If performed in Maryland, the base pay range is $68,900 - $114,800, the total target cash range is $105,900 - $176,600.Pay mix between base and variable pay varies based on sales role; please discuss with the recruiter.
