Facility and Infrastructure Controls Engineering Manager

Boeing’s Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization has a rare opportunity available for an experienced Facility and Infrastructure Controls Engineering Manager to join Projects, Assets, Construction, and Engineering (PACE) Center of Expertise (CoE) team as a key member of this dynamic Leadership team, on-site in Hazelwood, MO.

How you’ll make an impact:

In this high-impact leadership role, you will lead a talented team of Engineers responsible for the Facilities and Infrastructure that enable reliable, efficient operations across our Midwest manufacturing, Research and Development (R&D) and office sites. You will provide technical leadership, mentor and develop engineering talent and collaborate with key stakeholders to address complex challenges spanning Operations, Maintenance, Reliability and Capital/Project execution.

Your team plays a critical role in supporting both day-to-day operational performance and long-term strategic initiatives, contributing technical expertise and guidance to the long-range capital planning process that drives investment decisions across the region. This position offers the opportunity to influence strategy, strengthen organizational performance and deliver meaningful improvements in the safety, reliability, and efficiency of Midwest Boeing facilities and associated assets.

Supporting the Midwest region, including St. Louis, MO, St. Charles, MO, and Oklahoma City, OK, the team provides multidisciplinary engineering and technical expertise across Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Structural and Architectural disciplines. Limited regional travel of approximately 10–25% is expected.

We are seeking an experienced technical leader with deep engineering expertise, sound business and technical judgment, and a demonstrated passion for building and leading high-performing teams. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is energized by combining technical excellence, people leadership, continuous improvement and strategic execution to advance critical facilities and infrastructure performance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide a multidisciplinary engineering team by setting goals, priorities, and expectations to deliver effective technical support for our Facilities and Infrastructures

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve processes and procedures that support operational and business objectives

  • Secure and allocate engineering resources, manage supplier technical performance and drive process improvements to improve execution

  • Build and sustain strong partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, business partners, and team members to support successful outcomes

  • Review and approve technical approaches, designs, products and engineering processes to ensure quality, compliance and alignment with business needs

  • Participate in make-or-buy evaluations and source selection activities while providing technical oversight of suppliers

  • Coach, mentor and motivate employees to strengthen technical capability, support career growth, and sustain high performance

  • Support broader GREF initiatives, including reliability, asset management, capital planning and execution, and adoption of improved digital platform

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course Exploring Leadership

  • Experience with Maximo or other Computerized Maintenance Software Systems

  • Experience with oversight of budgets and financial data

  • Experience in financial acumen

  • Able to travel up to 25% domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience in Facilities/Infustractor Engineering or equivalent Engineering experience

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role

  • Experience developing strategic long range business plans or multiyear capital planning

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders

  • Experience in administrating change management

  • Strategic decision making, planning and organizational skills
