We are looking for anEngineering Managertolead one oftheproduct development squads working on our Joist product.Joist, anEverCommercesolution group,is anend to endvertical software platform for small & medium-sizedtradescontractors. Joist provides web and mobile applications for small business contractors to estimate, invoice, record, and process payments, and manage projects from anywhere. Required Skills andExperience:

  • 2+ years of experience leading engineers as their direct manager in a product development environment, preferably managing teams that span multiple technology stacks

  • 5+ years of professional industry experience as a software developer working in agile teams

  • A successful record of mentoring and growing other engineers during your years of experience

  • Experience managing cross-functional product squads that include Product Management, Design, and QA/SDET partners

  • A proven ability to take ownership of software projects, from scoping and estimation all the way to being live in production

  • Experience and passion for Agile, DevOps and Lean approaches to delivering software and value for our customers

  • You know how to join and partner with Product Management to experiment, iterate, and ship fast for customers

  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely about deeply technical topics in an easy-to-understand way

  • You hold strong opinions about how to build great software and products but are receptive to the views of others; you know when to be flexible and when to hold steady

  • You are an expert in agile software development processes

Bonus Qualities:

  • Direct experience with Ruby on Rails, React, iOS (Swift), or Android (Kotlin)

  • Experience managing engineers across multiple technology stacks simultaneously

  • Background managing teams in companies with multiple product squads sharing common platform/infrastructure

  • You hold a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or in a similar field. While not a requirement, it helps to have a common baseline of understanding of CS principles when working with other technical people.

Where:Remote (Joist head officelocatedin Toronto, Canada).

TheEverCommerceteam is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada  ifyou'reclose to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation:The target base compensation for this position is $150,000 to $165,000 CAD. Final offer amounts will be determined by a variety of factors, including candidate expertise and location, and may vary from this range.
