Summary

The Facilities Project Leader directs the end-to-end development of plant modifications, plant additions, utility upgrades, and utility efficiency upgrades. This role is responsible for overseeing project scope, budgets, timelines, and safety while ensuring continuous 24/7 facility production. The position requires knowledge across all engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, structural, civil, and building codes.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Execution :
  • Manage the master project plan and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required specifications.
  • Manage projects from inception through punch list completion and final closeout.


Vendor & Contractor Management :
  • Oversee the development of bid scopes and support the bidding process.
  • Recommend new engineering and construction bidders.
  • Support final contract negotiations.
  • Manage and lead projects from inception thru punch list and closeout
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Manage all third-party vendors, including:
    • Architectural & Engineering (A&E) firms
    • Subcontractors
    • Design-build contractors
    • Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
    • Plan review agencies
    • Permit approvals and requirements


Compliance & Safety :
  • Support enforcement of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure all site work complies with applicable environmental regulations and building codes.


Technical Coordination :
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors and manufacturing engineers to ensure facility layouts support machinery, utility requirements, and production workflow.
  • Support project feasibility discussions to assist with overall project development.


Stakeholder Communication :
  • Prepare status reports and budget forecasts for executive leadership and stakeholder


Operational Transition :
  • Manage the complex handover from construction to the operations and maintenance teams


Team Development :
  • Build a multidisciplinary project team as workload increases to support ongoing and future project activities.


Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related discipline required (or equivalent work experience)
  • 7+ years of related or relevant work experience


Knowledge/Skills:
  • Positive attitude, open minded, and team player
  • Ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
  • Strong subject matter knowledge of industrial utility and infrastructure systems
  • Knowledge of building codes, governing regulations, and industry standards
  • Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project
  • CAD Software - AutoCAD / Revit capabilities
  • Comprehending technical drawings and specifications
  • Effective communication of ideas to gain consensus from individuals or teams
  • Ability to multitask and balance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Working well in a collaborative environment
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and cross functional team leadership skills.
  • Ability to balance the wants / needs of the customer with Facilities operational requirements
  • Knowledge of project flow, budgeting, cost reporting, tracking, PDCA and Waterfall chart development
  • Korean language proficiency a plus

  • Ability to work in both office and shop environments
  • Hands on support of equipment
  • Flexibility to work adjusted shifts as necessary
  • This role could require up to 10% of travel (domestic or international)
