Full Job Description
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for day-to-day management and maintenance of all Facility infrastructure, equipment, personnel and projects including outside contractors, at the Straumann Group North American Headquarters located in Andover, Massachusetts. This is a hands-on position and will require performing maintenance and other manual tasks on an as-needed basis. Moreover, this position supports the various training and educational events conducted at the Andover site.
Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
• Facility cleaning and maintenance in accordance with 21 CFR 211.42 - 211.58 (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) - maintain the facility in "like new" condition.
• HVAC operation, preventive and demand maintenance
• Purified water system operation, preventive and demand maintenance
• Wastewater treatment system operation, preventive and demand maintenance.
• Acid scrubber operation, preventive and demand maintenance
• Compressed air operation, preventive and demand maintenance
• Hazardous waste management
• Non-hazardous waste management
• Direct the daily activities of Facility Department employees.
• Manage performance of Facility Maintenance Department employees (performance reviews).
• Initiate and coordinate repairs or other services with third party contractors.
• Provide feedback to the Senior Manager, Facilities and Maintenance with respect to contractor performance.
• Evaluate suitability of maintenance contractors for Straumann site tasks.
• Perform or direct day-to-day maintenance or repairs of all facility components and sub-systems.
• Perform or direct office moves and reconfigurations.
• Organize and store all facility maintenance records in accordance with established procedures.
• Specify and order replacement and spare parts and supplies.
• Establish and manage spare parts and supply inventories for all infrastructure systems.
• Comprehensive project management for facility upgrades, expansions and modifications
• Filing for permit applications as required, and assuring compliance of subcontractor permits.
Other Duties:
• Assist Production Departments with equipment installation, relocation and repair as needed.
• Active member of Facility Emergency Response Team
• Must be available for and respond to emergency calls as assigned by Senior Manager, Facilities and Maintenance.
• Support Education and Sales Training events.
• Support Environmental, Health and Safety Technician with day-to-day compliance to Local, State and Federal regulations.
• Other tasks as assigned

Management Responsibilities:
This position provides functional leadership to Facility Maintenance Technicians.
This position is considered a critical company function and must be available for 24/7 emergency call

Physical Attributes:
• Lift 50 lb. without restriction
• Climb ladders and stairs
Work Environment:
• FDA/GMP manufacturing environment
• Work environment will include working with concentrated hot acid mixtures, Class 1 Flammable Liquids, Combustible Liquids, various abrasive blasting media and equipment, and inert compressed gas (Nitrogen).
• General office and manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels depending on task location.

Minimum Qualifications:
• 10+ years' experience in an industrial maintenance environment (FDA/GMP environment preferred)
• 3+ years prior experience in a lead maintenance position
• Grade 2 waste treatment license or ability to acquire said license
• High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications in trade skills are helpful but not required.
• Construction Supervisor license with 5+ years' experience
• Possesses, or have the ability to obtain the following certifications within 12 months of start date (training will be provided by Straumann Manufacturing, Inc. as needed): Massachusetts Grade 2 Industrial Wastewater Treatment License (Full), OSHA Powered Industrial Truck, OSHA Hazmat First Responder Level, DOT Hazmat, RCRA (Hazardous Waste)
• Basic hands-on knowledge of pipefitting, plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC and carpentry
• Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite; including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Expected to take ownership and pride in the operation and maintenance of the North American Headquarters of the global leader in restorative dental products and services.

Salary: $43.27- $48.08/Hourly. The final pay for this position will vary based on geographic location and candidate experience relative to what the company reasonably anticipates for this position.
