DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Manager Facilities Engineering 3 to join our team onsite in Palmdale, CA. Essential Functions:
Lead, manage, and supervise Facilities managers of various trades, crafts, vendors, and contractors responsible for maintaining and repairing facilities Numerical Control Machinery, Autoclaves, Climate Control Environments, Automated Equipment, Programmable Control Systems, Plant Air Compressors, Low Pressure Boilers, and Tank Lines
Set priorities, perform forecasting, and allocate resources to complete all repairs and projects related to corrective maintenance tasks, while minimizing equipment downtime
Lead, manage & supervise Facilities maintenance planners to ensure all maintenance work is planned and prioritized to ensure site success.
Support building infrastructure maintenance with multi-shift managers & personnel, addressing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, equipment controls programming (BMS – Building Management System), remote monitoring systems, and general maintenance
Ensure code compliance for operations equipment and buildings, addressing recurring maintenance needs
Ensure code compliance for operations equipment and buildings recurring maintenance needs
Utilizes Maximo computerized maintenance management system to schedule, track and report on equipment and infrastructure maintenance, service requests/work orders and trouble calls; ensure all maintenance team employees are following established practices for updating and using Maximo
Establish Preventative Maintenance scope and frequency for all new equipment. Continuously review existing plans for accuracy and best practice
Apply focused approach on coordination and consistent protocols around training and development for our Facilities personnel; ranging from standard orientation and onboarding to coordination of training / train the trainer model for processes, tools, and roles
Strong leaders capable of pulling together effective meetings/reviews with peers and stakeholders to collect feedback, assess gaps, and define best practices
Excellent communication skills required
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Must either have a bachelor’s degree and 9 years’ experience in facility operations or a master’s degree with 7 years’ experience in facility operations or a PhD and 5 years of experience in facility operations or four additional years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Working knowledge of one or more of the following, hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum systems, compressors, tempered water systems, steam production, wastewater systems, high voltage systems etc.
Availability and willingness to work any shift including some weekends as required
Ability to provide sound judgment to ensure overall safety, quality and efficiency of the department
Experience using Microsoft Word and MS Office
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Secret Clearance
Experience working with factory maintenance, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, utility systems
Experience with assembly and composite manufacturing processes
Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude
Experience with Lean manufacturing techniques
Experience leading a team of infrastructure and production equipment maintenance staff
Ability to plan, schedule and follow up on assigned work progress
Ability to cover weekends on call and respond as required for unplanned events
Familiar with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo,
Industrial Maintenance, Professional Engineer, Supervision or Journeyman certification is a plus
Primary Level Salary Range: $175,400.00 - $263,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
