Position SummaryThe Facilities Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facility electrical systems and rotating equipment. This role provides technical expertise in medium-voltage power distribution, electrical reliability, equipment troubleshooting, and system performance improvement. The engineer partners with operations, maintenance, and project teams to resolve complex electrical issues, implement reliability strategies, support capital projects, and ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, hands-on industrial electrical experience, and a proactive approach to improving equipment reliability and facility uptime.
Role and ResponsibilitiesHere's What You'll Be Responsible For:- Provide engineering support for facility electrical infrastructure including MV/LV distribution systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and emergency power systems.
- Support the operation, maintenance, and reliability improvement of rotating equipment such as motors, pumps, compressors, and generators.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for electrical equipment failures, power quality issues, and process interruptions to minimize downtime and improve system performance.
- Perform reliability assessments, root cause analyses (RCAs), and develop corrective/preventive actions to improve asset reliability and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate electrical maintenance activities, equipment upgrades, testing, and commissioning with operations, maintenance, and contractor teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company procedures including NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and arc flash requirements.
- Develop and maintain electrical documentation including one-line diagrams, maintenance procedures, equipment specifications, and technical reports.
Skills and QualificationsHere's what you'll need:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 5+ years of experience supporting industrial or facilities electrical systems in manufacturing, chemical, semiconductor, data center, oil & gas, or similar environments.
- Working knowledge of rotating equipment including motors, generators, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and associated protection/control systems.
- Experience with medium-voltage (MV) power distribution systems including switchgear, transformers, relays, breakers, and power system coordination.
- Proven reliability engineering and troubleshooting experience involving root cause analysis, failure investigations, predictive maintenance, and system optimization.
The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
