This role is responsible for providing technical leadership, architectural guidance, and long-term platform strategy for the BigID ecosystem. The successful candidate will act as the technical liaison with the BigID vendor, guide the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) support team, and ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and aligned with PG&E's privacy, compliance, and cloud standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep experience in AWS, APIs, scripting, containerized workloads, and data platforms, and a strong understanding of how enterprise systems store, expose, and classify data.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland, CA approximately once per week, or more, based on business needs or company requirements.

  • Design, develop, and maintain medium to complex APIs to support data ingestion, automation, and downstream workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance on authentication, authorization, and secure API patterns.
  • Support integration patterns for structured and unstructured data sources.

Data & Discovery Expertise
  • Provide expertise on data discovery concepts, including structured vs. unstructured data, data classification, and scan result interpretation.
  • Understand and guide how BigID scans and interprets data across platforms such as Oracle, SQL databases, SharePoint, and other enterprise repositories.
  • Partner with Privacy and Compliance stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into technical platform capabilities.

Operations & Maintenance Enablement
  • Provide technical oversight and mentoring to the O&M team supporting BigID operations.
  • Define support standards, runbooks, and operational best practices in collaboration with O&M teams.
  • Review operational changes to ensure stability, security, and scalability.
  • Enable proactive issue detection and long-term platform health.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary technical liaison with the BigID vendor, including support escalations, roadmap discussions, and architectural reviews.
