Full Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Executive Director - Cloud Services Capability to join our Digital Practice. This is a hybrid position, 1-2 days in the Herndon Office.

The Cloud Services Capability Executive Director is a leadership position focused on driving the modernization of federal infrastructure. These leaders sit at the intersection of technical architecture, client strategy, and team management. This position is the strategic driver for cloud adoption across federal agencies by building the "capability", the people, processes, and tools that allow agencies like the DoD, IC, DHS, and Federal health organizations to scale with cloud solutions and optimize cloud operations.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Capability Strategy: Define and grow the technical "practice" for cloud services, including Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), DevSecOps, and multi-cloud governance.
  • Technical Leadership: Oversee the design and implementation of secure, mission-critical environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), often in air-gapped or highly regulated spaces.
  • Client Advisory: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for federal stakeholders, helping them move from legacy mainframes to modern, resilient cloud native architectures.
  • Team Mentorship: Lead a cross-functional team of Cloud Engineers and Architects, ensuring they stay current with certifications and federal compliance standards (like FedRAMP or DoD SRG).
  • Innovation: Integrated Generative AI and advanced automation into cloud management to reduce "tech debt" and improve operational efficiency.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering; an additional 12 years of related experience might be considered for a degree.
  • +15 years in Cloud with at least 5 years specifically leading a cloud-centric or large-scale delivery program/portfolio, with at least +12 years in a leadership/supervisory capacity.
  • Proficiency in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; Experience with Terraform/Ansible (IaC), Kubernetes, and Linux administration.
  • Experience in leading Cloud based solutions development and implementation, and "Sales Pursuit" and technical solutioning for multi-million dollar federal contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and understanding the unique operational landscape of Federal Government clients. Understanding of multiple technical disciplines to drive the analytics mindset to include but not limited to systems engineering, software/systems development, agile and cloud computing, data analytics, AI/ML, cybersecurity, intelligent automation, and digital engineering.
  • Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple functions (Business Lines, Finance, HR, Legal, etc.).


Clearance Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
