Full Job Description
The opportunity

As our integral Events and Brand Experiences Lead, you'll own every important moment Column creates: the dinners that turn prospects into partners, the offsites that shape our culture, the conference presence that signals who we are, and the customer gatherings that make people feel proud to be building with us. You'll work directly with our CEO, our Go-to-Market team, and our Workplace Experience team to make all of it exceptional.

This is a high-ownership role with real budget, direct executive access, and no bureaucracy between you and the work. If you're someone with operational excellence who has managed large budgets, sweated every detail, and knows that a well-executed event is a foundational relationship-building tool, this is a rare opportunity to build a function from the ground up at a company that values excellent experiences.

This role is based in our San Francisco HQ, reports into our Head of People, and is expected to be in-person 2-3 days/week. Regular travel to conferences and events (domestic and international) should be expected.

What you'll do
  • Own strategy and execution for Column's highest-stakes internal and external moments - customer-facing events, company offsites, board meetings, brand activations, and conference presence.
  • Partner with our Workplace Experience Manager to build employee engagement programming that reflects and reinforces Column's culture.
  • Run the full production stack: vendor sourcing, venue selection, creative direction, communications, budget management, and day-of execution.
  • Work with GTM to develop event strategies that generate pipeline and deepen relationships with the people who matter most to our business.
  • Be on the ground at high-priority events - present, adaptable, and always three steps ahead.
  • Contribute to broader marketing campaigns and brand initiatives as Column continues to grow.

What you'll need to be successful
  • 5+ years of experience in event production, experiential marketing, or brand activation roles-ideally at a high-growth startup or creative agency.
  • Demonstrated success executing high-profile, detail-rich events under tight timelines.
  • Outstanding project management skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments.
  • A strong aesthetic sensibility and eye for brand cohesion.
  • Scrappy, resourceful, and humble-you're just as comfortable building a strategy deck as you are taping down cables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort interfacing with executives and VIPs.
  • Willingness to travel and adapt on the fly.

What you'll get from us
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans, including options that are 100% covered by Column for you and 100% covered for your dependents!
  • Comprehensive family planning and fertility benefits via partnership with Carrot, including reimbursement of up to $20,000 in qualified expenses
  • FSA and HSA account options to enable use of pre-tax money for medical and dependent care expenses
  • 401k plan, including self-directed brokerage options
  • Flexible time-off policy - take the time off that you want and need to relax and recharge
  • 100% paid parental leave, including 16 weeks for birth mothers, 12 weeks for primary caregivers, and 8 weeks for secondary caregivers
  • Catered lunches and dinners for SF employees
  • 🚆 Commuter benefits
  • Regular team building events, including annual offsite
