The role involves ensuring that all conferences and events, both internal and external, exemplify the highest levels of quality, cost efficiency, and control. This includes collaborating with business units and hosts as strategic partners, offering creative ideas and excellent execution. The position leverages global supplier relationships and Blackstone's purchasing power to maintain brand consistency while upholding rigorous standards in project management, budgeting, and vendor service levels.
Responsibilities
• Event Planning: Support the event lifecycle for in-person and hybrid events, from initial request, through execution and post event reporting across all US business units.
• Strategic Partner: Manage multiple workstreams concurrently with consideration for prioritization, complexity, influence, and levels of involvement required to advance initiatives. Working with client team(s) to provide guidance on agenda building, material design and speaker suggestions (internal/external) and presentation idea generation.
• Innovative: Drive innovation within the team by fostering a willingness to experiment and balancing big-picture thinking with tactical execution. Collaborate on creating new event experiences and exploring industry sponsorship opportunities
• Financial Controls: Develop and maintain accurate budgets, negotiate cost savings, and reconcile actual expenses. Assist in preparing post-event analysis reports that incorporate both qualitative and quantitative data.
• Production and Technology: Collaborate with production and technology teams to enhance audience experience. Apply expertise in the production process and audio-visual requirements to influence event technology efforts aimed at engaging global audiences with hybrid programming.
• Vendor Management: Submit RFPs, recommend venue ideas and selection. Lead contract negotiation and manage vendor service levels to ensure quality and compliance.
• On-Site Execution: Support on-site execution, staffing, and vendor management, contributing to the overall success of events.
• Business Unit Relationship Manager: Oversee key relationships across Blackstone businesses, serving as a trusted partner - presenting annual event budgets, providing input on event strategies and gathering feedback.
Qualifications
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.
• Experience: 10+ years' experience in event planning and management in a dynamic corporate organization.
• Strong knowledge of venues and vendors in New York and across the U.S.
• Proven track record of developing business relationships at all professional levels, both internal and external, ranging from C-suite executives and partners to personal assistants.
• Self-motivated problem solver.
• Professional integrity, initiative, leadership skills and can work as part of a global team in an environment that demands excellence and time.
• In depth and hands on experience in Cvent event management and registration platform.
• Strong organizational skills and can manage multiple responsibilities and events while maintaining high quality standards.
• Can adapt style as the situation requires.
• Willingness to travel as needed for events.

Expected annual base salary range:
$150,000 - $225,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone's sole discretion.
