Duties and Responsibilities- Lead the execution of event-driven investment strategies, including merger arbitrage and special situations.
- Evaluate corporate events, transaction structures, financing arrangements, and regulatory developments affecting investment opportunities.
- Develop investment recommendations, portfolio positioning strategies, and market insights for clients.
- Advise clients on portfolio construction, investment strategy, and risk management decisions.
- Partner with clients to execute event-driven trading strategies and identify investment opportunities.
- Develop financial models, valuation analyses, and scenario analyses supporting investment decisions.
- Monitor portfolio performance and market developments impacting active investments.
- Collaborate with research, trading, and compliance teams to evaluate investment opportunities.
- Present investment recommendations, market outlooks, and trade ideas to clients.
- Ensure compliance with investment policies, regulatory requirements, and fiduciary standards.
Qualifications & Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or equivalent experience.
- MBA and/or CFA preferred.
- Typically requires 10-15 years of institutional investment experience.
- Expert knowledge of merger arbitrage, special situations, and event-driven investing.
- Deep understanding of portfolio construction, investment strategy, and institutional risk management.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis capabilities.
- Extensive knowledge of corporate actions, transaction structures, and capital markets.
- Exceptional client advisory, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
Working ConditionsMust be able to perform the essential job duties. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each work day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
