Summary Join our team as an EPC Cost Estimator and play a key role in supporting project bids and cost analysis across multiple disciplines. This position involves preparing detailed estimates for medium-complexity projects, utilizing industry-standard tools and methodologies. You will collaborate with senior estimators and project stakeholders to ensure accurate, competitive, and well-structured cost estimates while gaining hands-on experience and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare complete cost estimates for assigned projects using industry-standard estimating guidelines.
- Develop pricing based on estimating guides, historical data, and project requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare discipline-specific cost estimates.
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend meetings to determine project scope and estimate requirements.
- Coordinate overall estimating efforts for assigned bids and projects.
- Utilize cost estimating software with guidance from senior estimators.
- Break estimates into detailed WBS structures including material, labor, and equipment.
- Apply markups, contingencies, and construction cost factors according to established standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation and back-up files supporting estimate calculations.
- Assist in maintaining and updating internal cost databases.
- Interface with owners, engineers, architects, and contractors to assess project feasibility and cost data.
Required Qualifications - Minimum 1-2 years of construction cost estimating experience.
- Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and interpreting computerized cost data systems.
- Exposure to multiple estimating disciplines including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), Pipeline, Storage, and M&R.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications - Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent hands-on estimating experience).
- Experience working with estimating software tools.
- Familiarity with construction cost structures, WBS development, and bid coordination.
