Role Scope & Impact
  • Own the enterprise opportunity management process from opportunity intake through outcome realization.
  • Manage end-to-end opportunity workflows, including intake, triage, routing, governance reviews, approvals, execution tracking, closure activities, and outcome reporting.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and accountability across opportunity stakeholders, investment owners, engineering teams, advisors, and operational partners.
  • Establish and operate governance processes that provide transparency into opportunity health, execution status, investment utilization, risks, dependencies, and realized outcomes.
  • Create scalable workflow models, reporting mechanisms, operating rhythms, and decision documentation that improve consistency, effectiveness, and execution quality.
  • Deliver portfolio-level visibility and insights that inform business decision-making, investment optimization, and leadership reviews.

As Senior Program Manager, Enterprise Opportunity Management, you will own the operational governance and orchestration of enterprise opportunities across Microsoft's commercial device business. You will partner with business leaders, investment owners, engineering teams, sales stakeholders, operational teams, and PMO leadership to drive visibility, accountability, and execution excellence throughout the opportunity lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end operational management and governance of enterprise opportunities across the WDS organization.
  • Manage opportunity intake, qualification, triage, routing, lifecycle tracking, governance checkpoints, and closure processes.
  • Coordinate execution activities across Sales, Engineering, Category, Marketing, Finance, Operations, PMO, investment program teams, advisors, and other delivery teams.
  • Establish governance forums, review cadences, escalation paths, decision logs, executive reporting processes, and stakeholder communications.
  • Drive accountability for execution milestones, deliverables, dependencies, commitments, issue resolution, and follow-through across cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain opportunity dashboards, portfolio reporting, health metrics, executive scorecards, and outcome measurement frameworks.
  • Track investment activities and business outcomes to confirm alignment to approved opportunity objectives, expected success measures, and realized impact.
  • Identify execution risks, operational bottlenecks, dependency issues, process gaps, and data-quality challenges, and drive timely resolution or escalation.
  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives that improve efficiency, visibility, operational scale, and consistency in enterprise opportunity management.
  • Partner with PMO leadership to evolve enterprise opportunity workflows, governance mechanisms, operational capabilities, tooling requirements, and reporting processes.
  • Provide senior leadership with actionable insights regarding portfolio health, opportunity performance, investment effectiveness, execution readiness, and outcome realization.
  • Support annual planning, business reviews, investment reviews, and performance assessments through data-driven analysis, recommendations, and operational insights.

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement

  • 4+ years of experience in Program Management, Sales Operations, Business Development, Operations, Finance, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional programs or operating processes that require stakeholder alignment, governance discipline, reporting, and execution follow-through.
  • Experience using data, reporting, dashboards, or scorecards to manage program health, operational performance, business outcomes, or executive updates.


The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Experience managing enterprise opportunity workflows, investment governance, portfolio operations, or sales / business operations processes.
  • Strong understanding of governance models, operating rhythms, business review processes, controls, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Experience building scalable processes, reporting models, workflow tools, and cross-functional operating mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with partner ecosystems, commercial programs, investment mechanisms, funding processes, incentive structures, or device ecosystem motions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, operational rigor, and comfort translating ambiguous business needs into structured execution plans.
  • Experience operating in complex, highly matrixed environments with competing stakeholder priorities and multiple delivery teams.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, drive alignment without direct authority, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and maintain accountability across stakeholders.
  • Ability to synthesize operational data into concise executive insights, action plans, risks, and recommendations.

  • Enterprise opportunities move through intake, governance, execution tracking, and outcome reporting with clear ownership, visibility, and accountability.
  • Leadership has reliable portfolio-level insight into opportunity health, investment status, execution risks, and realized outcomes.
  • Cross-functional stakeholders understand decision points, commitments, milestones, dependencies, and escalation paths.
  • Operational processes, reporting mechanisms, and tooling continue to scale as Enterprise Commercial motions expand.
  • The role enables consistent execution quality while maintaining alignment with established PMO governance, compliance requirements, and business objectives.


Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
