Full Job Description
Role Scope & Impact
  • Lead the WDS compliance portfolio, driving execution of prioritized compliance workstreams aligned to organizational commitments, business objectives, and Microsoft requirements.
  • Serve as the WDS compliance program lead across key risk and compliance domains, coordinating subject matter experts and accountable business owners to deliver compliance outcomes.
  • Establish and manage governance processes, operating rhythms, reporting mechanisms, and decision frameworks that improve compliance readiness, visibility, and execution effectiveness.
  • Identify compliance risks, execution gaps, process improvement opportunities, and emerging requirements through analysis, stakeholder engagement, and operational insight.
  • Provide senior leaders with clear visibility into program health, key risks, dependencies, mitigation plans, decisions, and compliance progress.
  • Drive AI-enabled automation and process improvements that increase operational efficiency, strengthen compliance oversight, and reduce manual effort across compliance programs.


Responsibilities
  • Partner across WDS and MCAPS, CELA, Finance, HR, Security, core Compliance teams, the WDS Executive Office, business management teams, and other key partners to scope, plan, and execute prioritized compliance initiatives.
  • Lead cross-organizational coordination and execution of compliance priorities, including Secure Future Initiative (SFI), Responsible AI, privacy, anti-corruption and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), trade, accessibility, supplier compliance, Executive Orders, regulatory mandates, and other emerging compliance requirements.
  • Define program and project requirements; develop charters, plans of record, timelines, milestones, dependencies, communication plans, deliverables, status reporting, risk mitigation strategies, and success measures.
  • Coordinate implementation of organizational compliance requirements, required training obligations, supplier compliance and vetting activities, internal tool reviews, and related actions in partnership with accountable business and functional teams.
  • Drive core compliance rhythms, action tracking, issue and risk reviews, executive reporting, audit readiness activities, and leadership status communications across prioritized workstreams.
  • Assess compliance requirements, business risks, and operational impacts; identify mitigation plans and drive alignment and execution with accountable stakeholders.
  • Conduct cross-organizational analysis to identify compliance risks, process improvement opportunities, control gaps, and scalable governance solutions.
  • Build alignment across compliance leads, champions, business owners, and cross-functional stakeholders to establish clear accountability, ownership, and execution plans.
  • Develop and maintain compliance health metrics, operational key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting frameworks, and dashboards that measure delivery progress, compliance adoption, risk reduction, and business outcomes.
  • Identify and lead AI-enabled automation, workflow improvements, and process optimization initiatives that increase efficiency, improve decision quality, and strengthen compliance operations at scale.
  • Communicate compliance program status, operational performance, emerging risks, mitigation plans, and key insights to senior leaders and stakeholders.


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience.


Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 12+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of program or project management experience in a technology organization, driving cross-functional initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups and business functions.
  • Experience supporting compliance-related programs in one or more areas such as security, privacy, Responsible AI, anti-corruption / FCPA, trade, accessibility, supplier compliance, or regulatory requirements.
  • Experience defining and managing complex programs, including plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, executive communications, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information, assess business impact, and present actionable recommendations to management.
  • Solid finance and business acumen, including familiarity with return on investment, KPIs, business performance, value drivers, and core data analytics.
  • Demonstrated success leading multiple concurrent workstreams across complex, highly matrixed organizations.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships, influence without direct authority, and drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or governing compliance frameworks, controls, audit readiness activities, and risk management processes across a large organization.
  • Experience establishing governance mechanisms, monitoring compliance obligations, tracking remediation activities, and driving accountability across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clarity from ambiguity and frame risks, tradeoffs, decisions, and asks.

Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
