Full Job Description
ENGINEER -WILBUR WRIGHT COLLEGE

Wilbur Wright College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago, seeks an Engineer to work at the discretion of the Chief Engineer in providing efficient and professional engineering services for the maintenance of the building and grounds of City Colleges of Chicago.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Responsible for providing efficient and professional Engineering services, operation and maintenance of the building and grounds.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Ensures the safe and efficient operation of equipment, machinery and buildings.

2. Operates and repairs heating and ventilation equipment, steam plants, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, ice and refrigeration equipment, air conditioning units, fans and automatic/power oiling pumps and engines.

3. Adheres to all standards of operation, laws, statues and industry best practices.

4. Maintains building equipment and machinery to keep them in excellent working conditions.

5. Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.

6. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must possess a high school diploma or the equivalent. Must possess a Stationary Engineers License recognized through the City Colleges of Chicago. Current membership in Local # 399's is preferred.

2. Knowledge of the operation and repair of heating and ventilation equipment, steam plants, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, ice and refrigeration equipment, air-conditioning units, fans and automatic/power oiling pumps and engines.

3. Experience in the operation and maintenance of a pool is preferred.

4. Must have familiarity with rooftop HVAC units.

5. Must have knowledge of other trades.

6. Experience with Johnson Controls BAS system preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

SALARY AND BENEFITS INFORMATION
• Pay Rate: $57.52 per hour
• The rate paid is in accordance with the respective bargaining agreement.

WORK SCHEDULE

Wright College Main Campus
  • Tuesday - Friday; 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm

Humbolt Park Campus
  • Saturday; 7:00 am to 3:30 PM

Coverage at HP for vacations and coverage

Note: Work schedule is subject to change based upon facility hours of operation. Advance notice will be communicated in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within six (6) months of hire.
