Job Description

Engineering Technologist - Strategic Initiatives

This role is designed for early-career engineers with exceptional growth potential who want to rapidly develop into strong technical leaders. You will work directly with a Senior Distinguished Engineer (SDE) on high-impact strategic initiatives spanning emerging technologies, enterprise architecture, and industry collaboration. A key part of this role is the heavy practical use of AI tools and workflows, with the goal of developing into a highly effective practitioner of AI-assisted engineering through mentorship and hands-on work on challenging projects.

This is not a narrowly scoped development role. You will operate in a dynamic environment where problems are often ambiguous, technologies are evolving, expectations change quickly, and stakeholders span multiple functions across the business. Success requires strong learning velocity, intellectual curiosity, the ability to work across business boundaries, and the ability to translate unfamiliar concepts into working software and clear technical insights.

What you'll achieve:

As part of the ACE SDE team, you will gain hands-on experience with strategic technical work at the intersection of emerging AI, enterprise architecture, and industry collaboration. Through direct mentorship and challenging projects, this role provides the opportunity to build the judgment, technical range, and AI-assisted ways of working needed to take on greater technical responsibility in complex enterprise environments.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as an Engineering Technologist on our Office of the CTO AI Centric Engineering team in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Work closely with a Senior Distinguished Engineer and ACE team on high-priority technical initiatives
  • Rapidly learn new tools, frameworks, and domains, often with limited prior context
  • Use AI tools extensively in day-to-day work to support research, software development, prototyping, communication, and technical problem-solving
  • Translate ambiguous problems into structured approaches, experiments, or working software
  • Contribute to research and evaluation of new technologies, including AI and distributed systems
  • Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and problem-solving sessions
  • Communicate technical ideas clearly-both in writing and verbally-to a range of audiences
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities, projects, and problem spaces
  • Collaborate across engineering, product, and strategy teams in a highly dynamic environment
