What You Will Do
Lead Plant Engineering Operations
Provide leadership and direction for engineering activities supporting stamping, tube bending, fabrication, and assembly processes
Manage engineering priorities and resources to support production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams
Establish consistent engineering standards, documentation practices, and process controls across the facility
Evaluate engineering capacity, staffing needs, and project priorities to support plant growth
Optimize Manufacturing Processes
Support stability and efficiency across metal stamping presses, tube bending equipment, fabrication, and assembly lines
Evaluate equipment capability, tooling performance, and manufacturing workflows
Identify and implement improvements to increase throughput, repeatability, and safety
Reduce scrap and improve material flow through practical engineering solutions
Ensure Quality System Alignment
Maintain engineering processes aligned with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA standards
Manage engineering documentation including BOMs, routings, PFMEAs, and control plans
Lead engineering change management processes
Support internal audits, customer visits, and corrective actions
Support Product Development & Launches
Evaluate manufacturability of new and revised products
Support prototype builds, engineering trials, and launch readiness
Coordinate cross-functional problem solving between engineering, quality, operations, and suppliers
Ensure new product launches are supported with strong engineering documentation and process controls
Drive Continuous Improvement
Lead initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction
Improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and strengthen process capability
Promote disciplined problem solving and operational excellence across teams
Develop Engineering Talent
Coach and develop engineering staff through mentorship and technical leadership
Foster collaboration between engineering, operations, maintenance, and leadership teams
Encourage innovation and practical problem-solving across the plant
What You Bring
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
7-10+ years of progressive engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Previous experience leading engineering teams within automotive, transportation, or metal fabrication environments
Technical Expertise
Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, and engineering change management
Working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA quality systems
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including:
Metal forming and fabrication
Tube bending
Assembly operations
Tooling and equipment capability
Experience supporting new product introduction and manufacturing launch readiness
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, engineering documentation platforms, and CAD tools
Leadership Competencies
Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams
