Full Job Description
The Engineering Manager supports the overall operation, maintenance, repair, and functionality of the resort's facilities, systems, and equipment. This position assists in leading the Engineering team while ensuring the property remains safe, efficient, and aesthetically maintained for both guests and team members.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and oversee daily operations of the Engineering and Maintenance team.
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance efforts across resort systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pools, life safety systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Ensure resort facilities are maintained to luxury hospitality standards and support an exceptional guest experience.
  • Partner closely with Rooms, F&B, Housekeeping, Security, and other departments to proactively address operational and facility needs.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to operational, guest, and emergency maintenance situations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party contractors and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA, safety, environmental, and building regulations.
  • Assist with budgeting, inventory control, capital projects, and cost management initiatives.
  • Support sustainability and energy-saving efforts to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Help develop, coach, and motivate engineering team members while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Participate in Manager on Duty responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Engineering or Facilities leadership experience, preferably in a resort, hotel, or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience managing maintenance teams.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with hotel work order and preventive maintenance systems preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations as business needs require.
  • Technical certifications and/or degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
