Job DescriptionAs an Engineering Infrastructure Technician, you will be crucial in maintaining, securing, and
organizing the lab infrastructure. Your efforts will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of
our labs.
You will have systems administration, storage, networking, and security skills. The Engineering
Infrastructure Technician will maintain highly resilient, secure, and scalable solutions for our
fast-growing labs.
As the support for our lab systems, this person must possess strong technical and
communication skills, triage and resolve problems quickly, maintain systems uptime, and deliver
measurable IT value to the business. This opportunity is for proactive and detail-oriented IT

The Engineering Infrastructure Technician will develop and maintain automation and scripts to
improve the efficiency and operations of the lab infrastructure maintenance, monitoring and
configuration.
The Engineering Infrastructure Technician will ensure our labs operate smoothly by scheduling
access to resources, maintaining all security protocols and standards, tracking and monitoring
equipment, monitoring and replenishing supplies, ensuring software security, and documenting
events.
The Engineering Infrastructure Technician will help ensure all employees follow industry
standards and safety regulations for handling and disposing of test samples. They maintain a
schedule that tracks lab equipment used and time for dev members. They often handle security
documents and ensure that all information and data collected in the lab is safe, reflecting our
unwavering commitment to a secure and safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the lab infrastructure, network infrastructure, and asset/equipment inventory.
- Maintain and troubleshoot hardware (cameras, workstations, servers, and switches) to support our labs.
- Develop and maintain software scripts, tools, monitoring, and automation to improve the efficiency and consistency of our lab infrastructure and software solutions (applications, licensing, etc.).
- Installation and maintenance of enterprise storage solutions
- Collaborate with IT and Network Administrators to maintain network security.
- Support lab IT infrastructure (systems issues/requests) and ensure they are prioritized and resolved promptly and professionally within SLA guidelines.
- Recommend measures to improve testing procedures, use of equipment, and need for new equipment.
- Communicate and deploy changes to lab infrastructure per standard change management process and scheduled maintenance windows. Coordinate lab changes and maintenance activities with leadership and business stakeholders.
- Create and maintain standard lab policies, procedures, and user guides for the lab environment.
Qualifications:
- Certificate or College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology or related discipline
- 3+ years experience in IT helpdesk/support experience
- Experience with hardware systems, including feasibility, development, validation, and implementation of hardware solutions, including future upgrades and maintenance.
- Basic networking experience in configuring computer networking on both Windows and Unix-based operating systems
- Operating systems knowledge, including installing, upgrading, and patching.
- Ability to script and automate operating system configuration and similar computer-related tasks
- Experience with computer security and compliance.

Target Base Salary Range: $90,000 - 100,000 CAD
