Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking exceptional IC6 Software Engineers to help shape the future of Storage. As AI and agentic workloads fundamentally change how applications are built, deployed, and operated, the underlying storage platform must evolve to meet new demands for scale, performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Working alongside some of OCI's most experienced distributed systems engineers, you'll design and build foundational services that support Oracle's global cloud platform. This role offers the opportunity to solve some of the industry's most complex infrastructure challenges while influencing the future architecture of one of Oracle Cloud's core services

Responsibilities

What you'll do
  • Design and develop highly scalable distributed systems supporting Oracle Cloud Storage.
  • Build foundational services within the Core Storage, Metadata, or Web Service layers.
  • Solve complex infrastructure problems involving data movement, scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Design systems capable of managing massive datasets across multiple regions while maintaining low latency and high availability.
  • Improve platform efficiency through architectural enhancements, system refactoring, and operational simplification.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to evolve the architecture supporting Oracle's global cloud infrastructure.
  • Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, technical design discussions, and architectural leadership.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction within the organization.
  • Influence the future of cloud storage as customer workloads continue to evolve with AI and distributed computing.


What you'll bring
  • Extensive experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong infrastructure engineering background with experience working close to the underlying technology stack.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts, scalability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
  • Experience building highly available, fault-tolerant services operating at cloud scale.
  • Proficiency in Java, C++, Go, Rust, or similar systems programming languages.
  • Experience working in public cloud environments such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of caching strategies, throttling, recovery mechanisms, and storage performance optimization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex distributed systems.

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred for this role. An advanced degree is a plus, but not essential.


Qualifications

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $169,800 to $355,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
