Job Summary

Under the direction of the Manager - Power Portfolios in the Power Markets Division, this position is responsible for management of power purchase agreements, firm transmission capacity, purchase agreements, capacity supply agreements and interconnection agreements. This position is also responsible for operational management of existing generation resources interconnected to the LIPA system.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Long Island Electric System, Knowledge of NYISO market structure. Wholesale Power contracting experience.
  • Provide support on technical end to assist Renewable and Non-Renewable projects proposed to interconnect to LIPA Transmission System.
  • Awareness and knowledge of NYISO Transmission Interconnection Process.
  • Assist Manager of the group with NYISO 3 party Interconnection Agreement negotiation process.
  • Awareness of NYISO ICAP Market rules.
    Assist in Generator Availability Data Reporting to NYISO.
  • Assist in operational management of existing interconnected resources on both Transmission and Distribution LIPA system.
  • Performs detailed analysis of monthly power-purchase invoices to identify potential errors. Review to ensure compliance with contractual terms. Work with counterparties to resolve disputed items.
  • Participate and contribute "cradle to grave" contract management from early involvement with developing the scope of work, RFP process, contract negotiation.


Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant engineering experience in distribution/transmission system design, engineering and construction methods and practices is desired.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with the ability to perform in a dynamic work environment.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driving record, maintained throughout employment.
  • Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required
