What We Are Looking For

Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking a Production Engineer for the SACROC and LDMU Production Field in Snyder, TX. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the field. The SACROC Production Field employs over 1200 production/injection wells, 22 Separation facilities 10 Water collection facilities and 5 Water Injection Stations used for the production of oil and CO2/Water Injection.

The Production Engineer will provide engineering support for all of the oil production and injection systems throughout the SACROC Field.

What You Will Do

Duties include:
  • Recognizes importance of safety, willing to lead and participate in promoting safe operations.
  • Works with operations to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
  • Complete production engineering assignments of increasing scope and complexity.
  • Provide engineering support for operational and new construction projects.
  • Lead MIT projects such as piping, vessel inspections and tank inspections.
  • Promote PSM elements in non-PSM facilities such as MOC, PSSR,
  • Receives training in various aspects of production engineering.
  • Applies standard techniques to provide recommendations for solutions to problems
  • Works with moderate direction.
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork and communication skills.

What You Need

Working Conditions
  • Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions in daylight & darkness.
  • May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Field vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances
  • Must be able to work with a team, independently and keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow work rules.
  • Requires working on holidays when a holiday falls on a scheduled on-call weekend
  • Must be available 24 hrs a day Mon-Fri and must be available for scheduled on call weekends.
  • Must be able to respond within 30 minutes during on-call duties.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to KM's insurer.


Education Required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering. Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical degree preferred


Experience/specific knowledge
  • 1-3 years' experience in the oil and gas and/or pipeline industry.


Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of ESP's and high pressure injection systems.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and IFix
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong analytical skills
